NOT FORSAKEN, NOT ALONE

Artist’s Statement:

Sometimes the trials we go through seem never-ending! It often appears that they are gathered together and perched atop a high place just waiting for an “exacting” moment in which to unleash themselves. Even worse, they seem to multiply in force, if not line up one-after-another like a hoard of paid hooligans determined to batter us down into hopeless and “fruitless” Christians–or worse as assassins, prepared to annihilate us completely!

As they strengthen the tactics of those “assaults,” we can be assured that God remains in control, from the start of the trial to the very end. He will not forsake us–He will grow us!! He provides the “weapons” we need to endure and overcome, as well as prepares us by the renewing of our minds through His Word! The battles are His. Trusting and relying on Him enables us to learn, endure and overcome! Trusting and relying on our “flesh” enables disastrous consequences.

When at our lowest point, that point of exhaustive weakness where we become more vulnerable to fleshly speculation, we must not permit ourselves to wonder if we are alone. We are not!! And we know this!! We will remember that our weakness is exactly where it must be; for in that weakness, our strength is Christ! Through difficulties, trials or persecution, God is present and He is working. He never abandons His beloved redeemed–He teaches and strengthens us! We must allow Him to mature us and stop employing our “fleshly” reasoning and efforts!

We will remember Paul’s example in 2 Corinthians 12:9-11: 9 “And He has said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for (A)power is perfected in weakness.’ Most gladly, therefore, I will rather (B)boast [a]about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. 10 Therefore (C)I am well content with weaknesses, with [b]insults, with (D)distresses, with (E)persecutions, with (F)difficulties, (G)for Christ’s sake; for (H)when I am weak, then I am strong.”

We will remember that it is God who sovereignly allows our tempering as fine gold through the many refining fires of trials. Therefore, let us be refined into the golden metal of God’s mettle. And in our trials display the strength of character with Spirited determination that marks the mental and emotional character unique to those matured through the purposeful workings of the Holy Spirit of God in us!

YES AND AMEN!! GOD’s eternal purpose for us IN CHRIST will not be thwarted! What joyful hope and assurance we have obtained!

Kay Cude poetry: Walking in the Light

Kay Cude is a Texas poet. Used with permission. Artist’s statement below. Click to enlarge.

For too many years I had little concept of what “walking in the Light of Christ” actually meant, even less what it involved! And for those countless years, even though I attended Sunday school and church, I somehow missed the “truth” about that walk! It was made real to me when I finally realized that my flesh was in control of “my” journey. “My way” had led me into years of Biblical ignorance and error and opened the door to deception. What a shock it was when I realized where I was spiritually…

We must each reach that defining point in our lives when we really desire to understand, believe and act upon these TRUTHS:

“The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it?” (Jeremiah 17:9)

“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14)

Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you– unless indeed you fail the test? (2 Corinthians 13:5)

…”If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine;” (John 8:31)

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12)

“THY WORD IS A LAMP UNTO MY FEET, AND A LIGHT UNTO MY PATH.” (Psalm 119:105)

Kay Cude Poetry: The Catching Away, the Rapture

Kay Cude is a Christian poet who uses photos or illustrations as a backdrop to her poetry on major Christian themes. The following is used with permission. Click to enlarge. Here is the Artist’s Statement.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are so very enthralled by the beauty of this earth. Its splendor loudly declares it to be the handiwork of GOD THE I AM. How profound is His grace to share the wonders and workings of His creation with all mankind, the righteous and the unrighteous (Matthew 5:44-45). But as His redeemed Bride of Christ, we know this earthly realm is not our “home;” its final stages are playing out vividly before our eyes. We therefore live expectantly awaiting “eagerly our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies” (Romans 8:18-25; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) while this present earth and sin continue their measured steps into a final death throe.
We, the Bride of Christ, yearn for the many who do not know Christ to listen to our pleas for their salvation. These end times are a herald for false teachers and “religions” to present counterfeit and deceptive narratives of another Gospel (Mathew 24:24; Mark 13:22; Galatians 1:3-10; 2 Timothy 2:13; 2 Peter 2:1-3; Revelation 13:13-14), the Rapture (Harpazo, Strong’s G726 – harpazo; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18) and the Day of the Lord (Isaiah 13:6-13; 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11; 2 Peter 3:1-10).
Too easily “natural” man succumbs to error ignorantly, willingly or because satisfying the “flesh” is the only thing one knows and it is preferable and seems, sounds or feels “right.” Perhaps one has never heard the TRUTH that GOD or that He as Creator is Sovereign over all things, and is patient and loving and ready to forgive and reconcile man to Him through Christ. Or perhaps they don’t understand that man’s life was never meant to be separate from GOD and that their sin and futility initiated through Satan, the deceiver (Matthew 13:19; John 8:44; 2 Corinthians 11:3, 14; Daniel 8:25) can be voided through receiving Christ as Saviour (What Does it Mean to be Saved?” Ephesians 2:8-10″ https://bible.org/seriespage/lesson-2-what-does-it-mean-be-saved-ephesians-28-10).
So while we speak of our catching away, we also speak warnings of the coming Tribulation.
Advent- Thirty Days of Jesus: Postlude 2, Like the Sun
By Elizabeth Prata
Christmas means baby Jesus. Everybody loves the baby. The swaddling clothes (so cute!) the manger (awww, really?), the Wise Man (distinguished solemnity). It is a tremendous story. It is THE story of all of history. God Himself came in flesh, incarnated solely to grow, live a perfect life, and die.
Advent- Thirty Days of Jesus: Day 30, He sat down
By Elizabeth Prata
We are coming toward the end of our look at the life of Jesus through scripture. The first section of His life was seen through verses focused on prophecy, arrival, and early life.
The next section of verses looked at Him as the Son, second person of the Trinity.
Advent: Thirty Days of Jesus- Day 29, Ascension
By Elizabeth Prata
We are coming toward the end of our look at the life of Jesus through scripture. The first section of His life was seen through verses focused on prophecy, arrival, and early life.
The next section of verses looked at Him as the Son, second person of the Trinity.
We proceeded into looking at Jesus as the Son’s preeminence, His works, and His ministry. Under ministry & works, I chose verses showing His attributes and aspects of being servant, teacher, shepherd, intercessor, and compassionate healer; and His attributes of omniscience, having all authority and power, and sinlessness. Advent- Thirty Days of Jesus: Day 26, Jesus’ sinlessness
By Elizabeth Prata
This section of verses that show Jesus’ life are focused on His attributes & earthly ministry. We’ve seen Him as servant, teacher, shepherd, intercessor, and healer. We looked at His attributes of omniscience, His authority, and now His sinlessness.
He came from glory where righteousness reigns. He descended to an earth that’s cursed where every single human is depraved, thoroughly drenched with a sin nature. He lived among us, sinlessly and perfectly fulfilling the Father’s commands for righteous living. He did this at every moment in every way. Not one blot, not one thought, not one act of anything less than perfection.
For this, He was reviled, mocked, hated, and killed.
He did it for us.
