UFO Brazil: Fox News reports. Is it a hoax, or not?

First, the footage:

“A UFO spied in the skies over Sao Paulo has all of Brazil buzzing. The amateur footage, shown on Brazilian TV station G1, shows blurry footage of a disc-shaped object hovering in the clouds for a minute or so — before disappearing in a bright flash of light, followed by a trail of colorful bursts. But is it an alien visitation, or merely the latest in a storied tradition of forgeries?”

“G1’s anchors explain that two passersby saw the object as they were driving in their car, near the town of Agudos in Sao Paulo state. They hopped out of the car to shoot the video with their handheld camera. According to the TV station, the cinematographers reported the earth shaking at about the same time the object vanishes in a blast of light, noting that other people reported the earth moving in the same general area. According to the U.S. Geological Survey’s Earthquake Hazards Program, there have been no earthquakes in the area. Chile was rocked by a few earthquakes in recent days, notably a 6.8 magnitude temblor on February 11. Video-editing expert Philip Cavaca told G1 that the film was a well-made montage — but a hoax nonetheless. “It can be seen in one frame,” he told the station. “When the truck goes by, you can tell that the UFO was moved, which is un-noticeable to the naked eye,” he said. According to Cavaca, by freezing the image you can see the exact frame in which the “UFO” alters. The station did not reveal the identity of the videographers, but did say that the video was the talk of the town in Sao Paulo. Watch the UFO video and judge for yourself at G1.globo.com.”

What does a UFO have to do with the end time? Or with a sane, pleasant person going about her business and having tea? Well, UFOs are really fallen angels. They are off planet dwellers who travel at the speed of light or faster, through dimensions, have been stated by God to visit is, and are extremely bright, sowing a white light that deceives. (2 Cor 11:15)

Further, this is a time when we are told would be full of deception (Rev 20:10) and falsity (Mt 7:15), and to beware (Phil 3:2).

Staying in the Word of God, and having an active prayer life in order to stay close to Jesus is the only way to avoid falsity in these deceptive end times. “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” Psalm 91:4.

Are you a cotter pin?

In the body of Christ, all are important- even the seemingly small. Are you doubting your importance to Christ and His work? Don’t.

Isaiah 33:23a – “Your rigging hangs loose: The mast is not held secure, the sail is not spread”

I was reading this verse today and it reminded me of something that happened to me some years ago. We were liveaboard yachtsmen then and had sailed from Maine to the Bahamas. We were staying a while in the Bahamas, enjoying the numerous islands, hopping from one to the other. We had made some friends and sailed with them, anchoring at night and socializing over scrabble and rum. On the day of the photo, I and my husband were sailing with our chums on Sea of Abaco. It was a yacht race,  and we were aboard their boat.

I’m in the foreground in the yellow shirt

So me and the boat owner’s wife were sitting amidships enjoying the race, looking at the other boats, and chatting. After a few minutes, she said, “Let’s go below and get some water.” We moved to the galley and a second later we heard an enormous crash! The boat shook and rolled! We instantly thought we had run aground, even though the Sea was deep at that location. We scrambled up to the deck only to see that the mast had fallen down! It had crashed down on the spot where we had just been sitting!!

dismasted credit. note, this was not the boat I was on. But the mess was similar.
Again, not our boat, but the sails and rigging dragging in the water is similar

The other owner had fallen into the water and the sails and heavy ropes and rigging were ensnaring his legs, potentially dragging him under. The boat came to a dead stop in the water and we were simply in shock.

A dismasting is one of the most terrible things that can happen to a yachtsman on the water. Fortunately we were half a mile from nearly the only and the best boatbuilding and repair facility in the entire 700 mile chain of islands. The owner guy was a schmoozer and finagled parts from the States in no time and within a week they were on their way. As with any tragedy, we wanted to know why. What did the mast autopsy say?

The cotter pin was gone.

This is a cotter pin:

This is how a cotter pin is used:

A cotter pin is “a metal fastener with two tines that are bent during installation used to fasten metal together, like with a staple or rivet.” (Wikipedia)

A mast and its rigging system is complex, and it relies on the sum of its parts, plus tension, to work. “On a sailing vessel, a forestay, sometimes just called a stay, is a piece of standing rigging which keeps a mast from falling backwards. It is attached either at the very top of the mast, or in fractional rigs between about 1/8 and 1/4 from the top of the mast. The other end of the forestay is attached to the bow of the boat.”

forestay is #16

And the cotter pin holds the forestay to the bow. With the cotter pin gone, the tension of the system was disrupted, and at just the right moment, the mast fell backwards.

The first thing you see on a sailing vessel is its mast and sail. It is a beautiful thing, billowing in the wind, doing important work to propel the boat. The next thing perhaps you see is the boat itself, its lines and its beauty. As Alan Jackson sang in “Boats to Build,” it has a “fair curve from a noble plan.”

The next thing you may notice is the stays and shrouds hearing them hum and sing in the wind. You hear the engine, you see the keel when heeling in a stiff breeze. You never notice the cotter pins.

Isaiah 33:23a – “Your rigging hangs loose: The mast is not held secure, the sail is not spread”

We Christians make up a body. Every body part has a function. If we’re serious about our walk with Jesus, we want to make a difference. We see great evangelists opening hearts to the Spirit and subsequent salvation. We see missionaries making great sacrifices. We listen to pastors preach as if they were on fire, and altars filled with weeping responders. We see teachers publishing book after book, with eager readers excitedly discussing new points of view.

We never notice the cotter pins. But if the pin is gone, the mast falls down. It has its part in the system, and every body part is important to Jesus, the Head of the Body. If you have been feeling sad, like you’re insignificant, like you don’t make a difference, YOU DO.

Saturday Interlude

It’s raining and dark on this weekend morning. And cold, too, for a Georgia spring. The gas heat is crackling in the stove. I like it. I have a cup of good, hot coffee steaming on my favorite coaster. Home fries are sizzling on the pan. I am writing my weekly prophecy newsletter for emailing later. And of course the bible is next to me and open. Gaither Vocal Band channel is playing on Pandora Internet Radio, and I am very, very happy. I have a lot to be grateful for. That I can call it the weekend means I have a job on the weekdays. I have food, and not just any food, but food I savor. I am safe from the weather, warm and dry. I am listening to hymns, something many people in the world are denied the blessing of. I am doing the work that the Lord gave me to do: writing prophecy to warn and remind. It is work I enjoy, no less, and He has mightily enabled me, another praise. Under His wings I am sheltered, happy, working. I feel peace. I know Him who IS peace.

Have you counted your blessings today? Sometimes even the smallest things are the biggest blessings. I hope you have peace today as well.

Until later,
Elizabeth

The Mistresses and the Days of Noah

Mistress event ends in uproar

“An online event intended to let China’s mistresses celebrate their status and air grievances quickly descended into a slanging match yesterday. Mistresses were joined by cheating husbands and wronged wives in an online chatroom for the inaugural “Festival for Mistresses.” The time and date chosen – 3:30pm on March 3 – was significant, as in Chinese mistresses are nicknamed “Little Three,” as they are the third person in a married man’s relationship. However, despite being dubbed a festival, good cheer was in short supply. … As levels of abuse escalated and chaos reigned, the moderator was forced to warn participants to behave. … Sister Three hoped the event would let people know more about mistresses, help them shed their scandalous image and gain social and legal status. Some mistresses complain China’s marriage law discriminates against them, giving all advantages to wives.”

Who didn’t see that coming. Anyone? Anyone?

One of the conditions the Lord said would be prevalent in the world just before His second coming would be that the world would be like it was in the Days of Noah. Jesus said: “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” (Mt 24:40).

What were the days of Noah like?

“Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (Gen 6:5) Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was filled with violence. God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth. Then God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of them; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth.” (Gen 6:11-13)

The people were corrupt, all flesh was corrupt, all the time. They were cavorting, flaunting their immorality in front of God. Why? They thought they were secure. With no thought to their eternal destiny, they hedonistically lived only for the moment, squeezing maximum pleasure into it.

But if you are the only person in a crowd acting immorally, it is not a comfortable situation. The goal, then, is to get other people to act like you do, or at the least, to get them to accept it. Just read Genesis 19:4-5 for another example of societal immorality and pressure to conform to the evil. The situation at Lot’s house in Sodom also merits another mention by Jesus (Luke 17:29-30) as a condition we will see at the end of days.

Back to today, being a Little Three in a marriage breaks God’s Law, period. But one of the goals of the Little Three group wants is to “shed their scandalous image and gain social and legal status.” I’ll say it again, sharing a bed with a married man is against God’s law. But that doesn’t stop all flesh from corrupting their way upon the earth and all thoughts end up as evil continually. They expend energy trying to normalize adultery. They felt secure in their sins, so secure, that they noticed nothing until the flood waters came. They noticed nothing until the burning sulphur rained down. They will notice nothing until the fire from heaven comes.

If you are wondering what the eternal consequences of your sins are, they are death. But the eternal consequences of Jesus’ death on the cross is that you do not have to die. You can live! He paid the price that God exacts for sin. He is Holy and His must render justice, and He did. Jesus died as the blood sacrifice for the immorality you perpetrate, for the sins you enjoy. If you are queasy about your thought-life, if you are wondering about the emptiness of your morality, if you hate your speech when you gossip or slander, then wonder no more. Jesus can answer those questions and He will forgive everything if you ask Him to! He will embrace you, clean you of sin and welcome you to His home. Be mindful, you will be outside of the crowd, standing against the current. For the time being. But for eternity, you will be as one with the Holy God who loves you.

But if you are a mistress celebrating your sins and pushing for acceptance and status through them, you will lose it all. Jesus always gives you a choice. He tells you ahead of time. If you don’t listen… they “did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.”

The Great Supper: You can eat, or you can be eaten

By Elizabeth Prata

EPrata photo

The culmination of the age of man ends with two great feasts. In one, believers will dine with the glorious King of all Kings!

“Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty thunderpeals, crying, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to be clothed with fine linen, bright and pure”-for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are true words of God.” (Revelation 19:6-9)

In the other, the dead on the earth after Armageddon will BE the supper…for vultures:

“Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.” And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.” (Revelation 19:17-21). The Pharisees asked Jesus when the Kingdom would come, and where. He answered:

“And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.”

Eagles (other translations say vultures) will flock to where the prey is and they flock most to where there is easy prey. Jesus was saying that eagles will gather where the dead are- the wicked dead. Unless we each individually repent and are forgiven by Jesus, we are dead in our sins. (Colossians 2:13). Unless this nation which accepts and codifies homosexuality, abortion, greed, usury and other sins abhorrent to God, repents and is forgiven, we are a dead nation.

Will you dine? Or will you be dined upon? Both suppers will happen. Repent now and fall on Jesus asking for forgiveness from the King who accepts worship from forgiven sinners.

Large crack in the earth at Peru

Large crack opens in the earth in Southern Peru

“The sudden appearance early in the morning of an enormous crack, measuring 100 meters wide and three kilometers long, caused confusion among residents of the Huacullani district in the Chucuito province, department of Puno. The exact cause of the crack in the earth still unknown. Peru’s geophysical institute ruled out the occurrence of an earthquake in the region, but what is clear is that the ground opened up and large blocks of earth can be observed scattered throughout the area. The event, recorded Wednesday morning, caused the collapse of one house located in the rural community of Llorohoco. Four people managed to escape, but the youngest in the family, five-year-old Jean Carlos Vilcanqui Acero, is missing. Geological engineers from the regional committee for civil defense have arrived in the area to investigate the phenomenon and determine its causes, said Javier Pampamallco, Puno’s civil defense chief.”

I’ve been reporting on sinkholes and earth cracks (and here and here) and the earth unzipping for some time now. The sinkholes in Florida are becoming so prevalent they are voting on whether to eliminate sinkhole coverage completely. There is a biblical model for earth cracks in the past and in the Tribulation to come.

Korah’s rebellion comes to mind. “As soon as he finished saying all this, the ground under them split apart and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them, with their households and all Korah’s men and all their possessions. They went down alive into the grave, with everything they owned; the earth closed over them, and they perished and were gone from the community. At their cries, all the Israelites around them fled, shouting, “The earth is going to swallow us too!”” (Numbers 16:32).

And in case a person would say “Oh, that was the OLD Testament, and it doesn’t count anymore…” Jude 1:5-13 reminds us that the specific example of Korah is an example of what WILL happen to the ungodly. Revelation 12:16 may show us a picture of a similar event: “But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth”. Gill’s Exposition says “and the earth opened her mouth; as it did when it swallowed up Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, Numbers 16:30; to which history this may have some respect.”

Isaiah 24:19 says that “The earth is broken up, the earth is split asunder, the earth is thoroughly shaken.” In the end, the earth cracks up. Isaiah 24 shows the same judgments in Revelation 6. The earth opens its mouth…and swallows what is above. The sinkhole and earth cracking incidents that are happening in the world lately are good examples of reminding us that the LORD is in control of the earth.

By the end of the Tribulation, the earth is devastated. Almost three-quarters of the entire population are dead. The geo-physical form of the surface of the earth is unrecognizable. The Tribulation’s onset is close. That we are also seeing onset symptoms described in both Isaiah and Revelation manifesting themselves is not surprising.

Israel has put up with a lot lately. How much more will she take?

I wonder how much they will take?

From Hezbollah:
Two Grad rockets were fired at Be’er Sheva on Wednesday evening. One of the rockets hit a house in a residential neighborhood. There were no injuries. This was the first time since Operation Cast Lead in late 2008 that Be’er Sheva was targeted by militants firing rockets from the Gaza Strip. … In recent days there had been an unusual escalation in the Gaza Strip. It began with an explosive device being detonated in the northern Strip and mortars fired at the Sha’ar HaNegev communities. The attack was directed at an IDF patrol that was carrying out a routine search in the area for Palestinian improvised explosive devices.” It is a serious and deliberate provocation.

From Iran:
“Two Iranian warships sailed from the Suez Canal into the Mediterranean on Tuesday, the first such trip in at least three decades, eliciting Israeli charges that Tehran is seeking to dominate the Middle East. … In sending warships to the Mediterranean now, Iran was asserting itself as a regional power and testing whether Egypt’s new rulers will stick to the pro–Western line of the Mubarak government. Some said the voyage also signals that Iran is ready to come to the aid of regional allies, including Syria and Iranian proxies Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon.” Israel has said that Iran’s action is a serious provocation.

From Lebanon:
“Prime Minister-designate “Najib Miqati is expected to hold a “very important meeting” with a high-ranking March 14 official on Friday, An Nahar newspaper reported. The cabinet’s structure and “identity” would be decided after Friday’s meeting in the aftermath of days of consultations with several March 14 members, the daily said.” Rumor is, the March 14 coalition will refuse to take part in a Miqati-led cabinet, therefore paving the way for a Hezbollah-controlled government. This has not happened yet, but if it does, Israel will be beside herself with anger.

From Syria:
“Israeli intelligence agencies are aware of additional Syrian nuclear facilities, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said on Thursday, amid reports that Syria was harboring a uranium conversion reactor near the town of Marj as-Sultan, about 15 km. east of Damascus.” Israel destroyed a Syrian reactor in 2007, just weeks before it went online. They will not put up with another one, especially not now.

Isaiah prophesied in chapter 17 verse 1 that Damascus will be destroyed, “It will be ruinous heap, never to be rebuilt nor inhabited. “An oracle concerning Damascus. Behold, Damascus will cease to be a city and will become a heap of ruins.” Damascus is the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world, at 6000 years old. It has been attacked, partially abandoned, and ruined at times, but never uninhabited. Therefore this prophecy has yet to be fulfilled.

Psalm 83 is an intercessory prayer over a battle that has not occurred. We know this from history, because the exact lineup of participants has never formed to attack Israel in the way described in the prayer. Therefore this particular battle is yet to come. At some point in the near future, I believe, Israel’s near neighbors will attack her. Additionally, the Psalm write was Asaph, who was a seer (2 Chronicles 29:30), and seers had prophetic abilities. More on Psalm 83 can be found here, by Bill Salus: “Does Psalm 83 set the stage for Ezekiel 38?

Source
Source

[Ed note: the only difference I have with this list is that I believe beth-Togarmah  is Armenia, which if you look at a map, is essentially eastern Turkey.]

The Battle of Gog and Magog as described in Ezekiel 38 and 39 is also a battle that has not occurred. It shows a coalition of Israel’s enemies attacking the nation in a deadly surprise attack, nearly decimating Israel in a deadly surprise attack. It is only God’s direct intervention that saves Israel and as a result, Israel knows her God has saved her and she acknowledges His Holy name. (Ez 38:23; 39:7)

Scholars think it goes down like this: Isaiah 17:1 and Psalm 83 occur before Gog Magog battle takes place, and Israel is completely victorious in both those battles. She is so resoundingly the victor, that Israel relaxes her guard. Israel is therefore militarily surprised by the Gog/Magog coalition- almost to her eternal destruction. The abutting nations that attack Israel in Psalm 83 do not participate in the Gog/Magog battle, and they would if they could. Israel’s victory seems to have wiped out the will or the ability of the Psalm 83 confederation from militarily posing a threat to Israel, and therefore she thinks the fighting is over. Not so. The nations that attack in the Gog/Magog battle are further neighbors, such as Iran, Russia, Turkey and Armenia, and northern African nations. It is thought that Israel’s victory allows her to mentally relax her guard, as prophesied by Ezekiel 38:11b “a quiet people who dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having no bars or gates”. Israel is certainly NOT dwelling securely now.

The set up for the Gog-Magog battle is almost concluded, with all the prophesied participants (Listed above) renewing or forming hard alliances with each other, and militarily moving into position, as Iran showed the world this week by traveling through the Suez Canal and is now patrolling waters of Israel. Israel won’t let another nuke reactor stand. They already destroyed one in Iraq in the late 1980s, and the one in Syria in 2007. They won’t stand for Iran’s warships carrying Hezbollah war-materiel to the terrorist group, who is plotting this minute to become the majority government in Lebanon. They won’t stand for it. The question isn’t what they will do, because Isaiah and Psalm 83 tell us. The only question is when.

Political humor in Lebanon

From Now Lebanon blog

All black humor aside, Lebanon is experiencing a terrible fuel crisis:

Lebanon Daily Star: “Rony Rizk pulls up at an empty gas station Thursday and begs station workers to give him just LL5,000 of gasoline. His gas tank was nearly empty when he learned that fuel importers had decided to stop supplying gas stations earlier in the day. The gas station attendant ruefully shakes his head. The station had run out of gasoline at 6 p.m., after cars lined up along much of the length of the Charles Helou highway in order to reach the station. A heated dispute between caretaker Finance Minister Rayya Hassan and caretaker Energy and Water Minister Jibran Bassil triggered the severe fuel shortages Wednesday. Fuel importers have said Bassil’s failure to update gas prices has cost them over $50,000 a day, and they have subsequently decided to halt supplies as a way of pressuring Bassil to release new prices. But some of the disgruntled drivers who lined up at gas stations Wednesday say they have no idea why the country is suddenly out of gas. “I don’t know what’s happened to cause this. All I know is that we’re running out of fuel, and that’s why I’m here,” says Tony Matar, an assistant manager at Hawa Chicken, who had been waiting in a queue at the Medco gas station near Gemmayzeh for nearly half an hour.”

Compounding the problem, “Jordan cuts off electricity supply to Lebanon“: “Jordanian authorities have suspended power supply to Lebanon due to the disruption of regional gas pipelines, according to a statement issued Tuesday by Lebanon’s state-run power company, Electricity du Liban.”

Remember, Lebanon’s government fell in January, caused by Hezbollah cabinet ministers resigning en masse. Their action started the spate of unrest spreading throughout the region. Ever since the Lebanese cabinet fell, the Prime Minister-designate Najib Mikati has been working to knit together another coalition government. Political maneuvering is in high gear, as one of the most powerful blocs, the March 14 bloc, is rumored to imminently announce its decision not to participate in a Mikati cabinet. This paves the way for a one-sided, Hizbollah-dominated cabinet.

As the world eyes Libya, Egypt, and Israel remember to keep one eye on Lebanon. The kind of Cabinet they produce may be the last straw for Israel…and the region.

Being a slave of Christ

Slaves
I heard an interesting sermon from John MacArthur this week. It got me thinking. It was about being slaves of Christ. You can read, listen to, or download this sermon here. He said that a believer’s true position in Christ has been diluted by the translators’ choice of the word servant and bond-servant for the Greek word doulos. They have consistently translated the word doulos which means slave, as servant. Doesn’t that change the flavor of service to the Lord? Being a servant indicates that we can and do serve Him at our own will and pleasure, and slave means we submit our will to an alien will and then the matter is out of our hands.

The bible is clear in its description that believers are slaves, not servants.  In every case where the word doulos is used it means slave, and the New Testament uses it 130 times. We are not servants of Christ, we’re his slaves. Even emphasizing the point in using the word minister, in 1 Corinthians 4:1 Paul said they were ministers of Christ but the Greek word is under-rower. The Roman trireme had three levels and the slaves chained to the oars at the lowest level were under-rowers.

Now, that notion is unpalatable in this “you can do anything” liberated free culture. It is anathema to the promotion of Christianity as a free-ing religion. It is certainly revolting to this generation of ego-driven self-gratification seekers in the secular world. But it is what it is.

The forehead
I am reading the bible through and I notice that a well-known phenomenon that will happen at the end of days also happened from the beginning. In the end, Revelation tells us the antichrist will place a mark on the hand or forehead of all who worship him. (Rev 13:15-17). The mark allows people to buy and sell, but its reason for being is not the economy, it is a mark of allegiance and worship of the beast. That the mark allows a person to also participate in the economy is a by-product of its placement on the person.

Jesus also sends an angel to place a mark on the forehead of His 144,000 who evangelize the world. (Rev 7:3-4).

Who brands his slaves? The master. Who puts a mark of ownership on his slaves? The master. Jesus is the ultimate Master and we are His ultimate slaves. That He puts a mark on us should not be surprising. We happily read language in the bible that says ‘we are His’. But when you look at the Greek word for ‘His’ it really means slave, and that’s when people balk. Did you know that ancient Romans marked runaway slaves on the forehead with the letters FUG (for fugitivus)? The notion of marking ownership of those who belong to Him was shown in the bible to have happened from the beginning. And here comes the use of the word forehead again.

In Exodus 28:36-38 we see the LORD instructing Aaron to order a gold plate made, “You shall also make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it, like the engraving of a signet: HOLINESS TO THE LORD. And you shall put it on a blue cord, that it may be on the turban; it shall be on the front of the turban. So it shall be on Aaron’s forehead, that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things which the children of Israel hallow in all their holy gifts; and it shall always be on his forehead, that they may be accepted before the LORD.”

Deuteronomy 6:7-9 “Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” The symbols mentioned here are phylacteries, a set of small cubic leather boxes painted black, containing scrolls of parchment inscribed with verses from the Torah, with leather straps dyed black on one side, and worn by observant Jews during weekday morning prayers. They were in use by the third century BC.

In the bible, forehead is used a lot to show identification with God (or with the antichrist.) We think of forehead as the exterior part of the face above the eyes and under the hairline. But in the bible forehead was used also to indicate what was inside the head. Wayne Blank explains it well. The Bible doesn’t just use the term “forehead” to describe what is physically foremost inside the head, as not just a bodily location, but also what is consciously a heart condition, much more like the term “heart and mind” is used today.

In Ezekiel 9:4: “The LORD said to him, “Go through the midst of the city, even through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations which are being committed in its midst.” A mark – literally, “Tau,” the name of the last letter of the Hebrew alphabet. The old form of the letter was that of a cross.
Summary of our true position
A slave was exclusively owned by one master. He was expected to demonstrate complete and constant obedience and availability to that master. He was subject to one alien will (because no man can be a slave to two masters) and was completely dependent on his master for everything. All discipline and reward came from that master. Are you uncomfortable with this lifestyle? Well, did you ever pray,  “not my will but thine be done”? (Luke 11:1-2; Mt 26:42). Do you love the book of John, reading it well and recommending it heartily? It says in John 5:30 “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.” There are many other examples of Jesus reiterating that His will not be done but the Father who sent Him, and as an example to His children to do the same. Yes, we are His children, we are His beloved, we are His bride, all nice, but we are also His slaves.

We use that term so casually today. Teenagers sneer, “What am I, your slave?” We say we slave away at the sale mines. We are slaves to things, like “I’m a slave to…ice cream. We slaved over a hot stove all day. But when we read of our true position in Christ, slave, we balk. “No, not me”, you think.

But we will be slaves to Him throughout all of eternity: Revelation 22:1-4: “And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads.”

May His will be done.

The new normal is definitely NOT normal

Here are just a few things that constitute the new normal. All of the links are from this year, with only one or two exceptions.

1. Massive migrating animal deaths taking place all over the globe (link)
2. Major super storms taking place (link) (link)
3. Magnetic pole migration that have been going on since 2004 (link)
4. Irregular weather causing food shortages (link)
5. Increased volcano eruptions (link)
6. Increased earthquakes (link)
7. The wobble in the earth’s rotation getting worse (link)
8. Sunrise coming 2 days early in Greenland (link)
9. Yellowstone ground bulging from active magma swells (link)
10. Planet X/Comet Elenin calculated to pass only a few million miles from earth (link)
11. FEMA buying food and supplies for a New Madrid Fault Catastrophe (link)
12. Severe winter weather (link)
13. Airports closing down to remark their runways over magnetic pole migration. (link)
14. Rogue tides from rising oceans (link)
15. Increased solar radiation (link)
16. Increased sink hole activity and large cracks forming (link) (link)
17. Animal behavioral changes (link)
18. Leaky magnetic field (link)
19. Mega solar flare activity (link)
20. Climategate (link)

This list could go on and on. I didn’t even mention the economy, politics, or wars. But speaking of wars, here is an excellent video from Pastor John Hagee, on Libya. It was uploaded today and contains extremely current information. In three minutes, he shows from the bible exactly how close we are to Gog-Magog battle. And if the Gog-Magog battle is that close, the rapture is even closer. That last part was my opinion. Don’t miss this video!
