Lost city found in Guatemalan rainforest

“The bible was written by stone age camel herders…” That is a paraphrase of one of the most frequently used excuses non-believers give me for not reading the bible. They say that man at the time of the bible, especially the earliest parts, were just incomprehensible musings of neolithic shepherds wandering the desert.

That excuse is bursting with illogic, but what are you gonna do? Non-believers don’t want to believe. Faith is a choice. Anyway, I bring this up because I am a fan of archaeology.

Don’t you ever wonder how the Great Pyramid at Giza was built? It defies technology, archaeology and man’s understanding today of how they did it. As Jack Kelley wrote in his essay The Great Pyramid of Giza: “The Great Pyramid’s builder knew all the dimensions of Earth and had a command of engineering, astronomy, and mathematics that would be impressive even today.” Some stone age shepherds, eh? Extra-biblical writings and traditions say that the first wave of builders of the Pyramid included Job, Shem, and/or Enoch.

These illogical things in the world kept me wondering about God and thus kept the door opened to His Truth. I always wondered how and why pyramids, monuments, and ziggurats were built, and all over the world, too. The Easter Island statures, the Great Pyramids, and the Mayan temples fascinated me, and still do. Far from the false depiction in history books that the world was populated only in the Middle East, and the Americas were an almost empty continent with a few teepees sprinkled here and there, the fact is, the word was full of worshiping, advanced civilizations. And let’s not forget Atlantis, which archaeologists claim to have recently found.

If the bible was written by brainless stone age shepherds, then how and why did these fabulous monuments arise? Where did the peoples come from? Where did they go? I just knew there was more to the story.

There is a monument or temple of ancient origin on almost every continent. These ancient peoples were worshiping something. They had the technology and know-how to build massive monuments and places of worship that equal or even defy our understanding today. What would compel these people to construct such enormous structures, at great labor and cost? Is the urge to worship innate, I had wondered? Otherwise, how can it be explained that the urge to worship something greater than ourselves had arisen from such disparate cultures across such great distances and through epochs?

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.” (Romans 1:18-20). It follows that, given the awareness of God universally evident in creation, no person can truly deny the existence of its Creator, even though they may try.

And this week the news articles published tell of yet another ancient worship site in Guatemala scientists have found. Holtun, or Head of Stone, in Guatemala was ‘discovered’ more fully by using advanced 3D holographic imaging, which stripped away centuries of jungle growth to reveal a “seven-story-tall pyramid, an astronomical observatory, a ritual ball court, several stone residences, and other structures.”

“According to research presented earlier this month, three-dimensional mapping has “erased” centuries of jungle growth, revealing the rough contours of nearly a hundred buildings. It has long been known to locals that something big is buried in the area, but it is only now that archaeologists have been able to uncover the secrets. Using GPS and electronic distance-measurement technology last year, the researchers plotted the locations and elevations of a seven-story-tall pyramid, an astronomical observatory, a ritual ball court, several stone residences, and other structures. … Reese-Taylor, who called the new mapping study “incredibly significant”, said Head of Stone, which has never been excavated, “was not a New York or Los Angeles, but it was definitely a Denver or Atlanta”.

The city of about 2000 inhabitants flourished for about a thousand years, from roughly 950 BC to 900 AD, when it was abandoned.

I believe the original Pyramid was a godly effort and perhaps it is this to which the following Jeremiah verse points: “God has set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even unto this day, and in Israel, and among other men; and has made Himself a Name, as at this day”.(Jeremiah 32:20).  All of the 80 or so other pyramids came later, are horribly inferior copies.

I further believe that the urge to worship is innate but absent faith in Jesus as God, it’s easily perverted because of our sinful nature. The Nephilim took advantage of this urge and did pervert it, as shown in resulting worship practices such as infanticide, live sacrifices, bestiality, and worship of satanic rituals and idols. Their monuments, beginning with the Tower of Babel just after the Flood, continued to be built all over the world and it is likely their skill and knowledge that fomented the construction of such complex buildings.

There are so many mysteries about these ancient monuments and long-abandoned cities. I’m eager to learn more when we are raptured, glorified and are outside of time. Perhaps we will be able to view these events from our balcony seat in New Jerusalem. Perhaps we may learn why it was abandoned. Just as likely, my interest and curiosity may disappear like a vapor in the face of full glory of Jesus, and He may have many other things for us to learn instead of past history. But still, the mystique of a lost city found in the rainforest makes me wonder. What were they worshiping, and why? Didn’t someone stand up and say, “Not MY baby!?” Didn’t someone take the knowledge gained in constructing these magnificent structures and say, “I’m using this knowledge to the good!”

Sometimes I mourn because the bible says all the earth and its works will be burned up. (2 Peter 3:10) Not the Mona Lisa! Not the Taj Mahal! Not the lost city of Macchu Pichu! Then I realize, how silly. “However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him”. (1 Corinthians 2:9). I can’t wait to see what is next that will be MORE beautiful than what God has already created for us. And the soon-to-be-discovered city of New Jerusalem tops the list.

Are you on milk, or meat?

“By now, Christian, you should be eating solid food in your walk with Christ. If you have been saved for a while but still regard the bible as too deep, can’t understand it, and don’t get much out if it, you are at risk. How, you ask?

“Warning Against Falling Away”–

“We have much to say about this, but it is hard to explain because you are slow to learn. In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.” (Hebrews 5:11-14)

Because we’re almost to the Days of Noah. In Noah’s day just before the flood, “The Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time… Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them.” (Gen 6:5;11-14)

Notice the definitive words: “every inclination,” not just some of his inclinations. His heart was evil “all the time,” not just some of the time. “All the people” had corrupted their ways, not just some of the people, or even most of the people, but all (the bible notes the one exception, Noah). Everyone was thinking iniquity and doing iniquity all the time. And it was violent.

Add to that the Nephilim were on earth in those days, the mighty men of old. The fallen angels who had come to earth, seen how beautiful the daughters of men were, and took for themselves them as wives, all that they chose. Their offspring were the Nephilim, giants who were offspring of his unholy union. (Gen 6:4). Things were pretty bad on the earth, then. And it is going to be like that again just prior to this next judgment with the fallen angels bursting in on the world after the rapture and even today are edging ever closer. It will be corrupt, evil, violent and ripe for judgment…except, people will not know that judgment is coming-

“As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark;” (Mt 24:37)

“For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible.” (Matthew 24:24)

They will be carrying on in their orgies and their revelries, probably believing that times are bad but they will get better someday. But they won’t get better someday.

Todd Strandberg, founder of Rapture Ready.com said that most of the credible prophecy teachers are in their upper seventies. I know Hal Lindsey is 80. They have been studying prophecy for the better part of their lifetimes, and they know what’s what. All the prophecy teachers I read say that we are in the prelude stage to rapid fulfillment of the prophesied Tribulation Time and very near the rapture. Jack Kelley summed it up thus: “For what it’s worth, I believe the world is experiencing the prelude to the seal judgments right now. They haven’t begun yet but the conditions necessary for them to happen are rapidly being met. It won’t be long until everything’s in place.” Rapture Ready website is twenty-three years old, and Todd’s latest editorial is titled “While there is still time.” Hal Lindsey has been studying prophecy for 50 years, said in his latest video report, “We have some some interesting things to talk to you about tonight. There are some unique things happening in the history of the world…”

To sum up, we are in the prelude to an evil and corrupt time, when abominable demons will be stalking the people of the world, and delusion will be the order of the day. And you are still on milk? The last line in the Hebrews verse I quoted above says: “But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.” Note the phrase, ‘who by constant use’. This means that you have to constantly be in the Word to be trained. Trained for what? To distinguish good from evil. Do you want to stumble around like a wobbly toddler at risk of being deceived? I know I don’t. I don’t drive around on threadbare tires, I don’t cross the street without looking both ways, I don’t eat five-day old fish. Those are simple precautions we take every day. And yet the Lord of the Universe told us that these end days will be the most evil, ever, and gave us a bible to protect ourselves and to be raised up in training, and we act like reading it is the most inconvenient thing we can ever do.

Genetic modification and dinosaurs

Here is a theory. I am connecting some biblical dots here but not everyone subscribes to my interpretation I’ve developed based on those biblical dots.

We know that sometime around 4500 years ago, God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. (Gen 6:5). God said, … “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.” (Gen 6:12-13)

We know that Lucifer fallen to earth, for iniquity was found in him and he was cast from his place in heaven. (Isaiah 14:12-14; Ezekiel 28:12-18). A third of the angels followed him. (Revelation 12:4). Those dastardly guys did not take their ejection well. Satan knew that God had promised a Redeemer from Noah’s line, and definitely not wanting a redeemer to be able to emerge on earth, the angels set about helping man in his depraved ways corrupt them beyond recognition.

We know that strange men were still on the earth even after the days of the Nephilim when some of the tribes still pillaged around the Middle East subsequent to the flood, including the Raphaim, Anakites, Zamzummites, Emites, and, of course, the giant Og, King of Basham. Goliath and his four bothers as described in 1 and 2 Samuel were giants. When 10 of the 12 spies were dispatched to check out the promised land, they were petrified at seeing one of the Nephilim tribes, and even described a grape cluster so large it took two of the men to carry it. Satan was still enacting his plan to corrupt.

Here we have a glimpse of genetic tinkering with food. Not only were the Nephilim causing destructive mutations among humans and in the food supply, but also in the animals. (1 Samuel 15:3) I personally believe God did not make dinosaurs but rather they were an animal result of Nephilim and fallen angel messing with genes. I also believe the dinosaurs were not invited to the Ark and perished in the flood. I mean, why would God make an animal too big to move with too small of a brain to handle it? Dinosaurs were not biologically efficient nor elegant.

So anyway, genetic messing with our genes was the ploy the fallen angels used to wreck the bloodlines and hopefully prevent the promised redeemer. But satan never gave up, we read ahead in history and see how he is active on the earth up to this moment and beyond during Revelation times. So would satan abandon a successful tactic of destruction and ruination, corruption and perversion, such as genetic tampering? No. Now when John reminds us that satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy. (John 10:10) So here is my theory.

Having failed to corrupt man through the direct tactic of genetic manipulation from marriages of themselves to daughters of men, and the animals, they now pollute the food we eat, embarking on an indirect method to corrupt us. Have you ever wondered why we are experiencing the ever-earlier onset of puberty? It’s age 9 now, with onset as early as age 7! Why? Or why we’re all huge? Large, lumbering, fat, obese, and taller than ever? We can’t even fit on seats anymore from Depression-era movie theaters. Or why autism has quadrupled? Or why suddenly, celiac disease has sprouted up in widespread manner in the population and doctors can’t figure out why? (“Increase in celiac disease baffles doctors.”) Or why food has to be genetically modified in the first place?

The genetic mingling happened in the past, is happening now, and will happen again once more in direct manner: In Daniel 2:43 there’s a reference to someone from the fourth prophesied kingdom “mingling themselves with the seed of men” in the last days. KJV: “And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.” Who is the mentioned ‘they‘ mixing with seed of men? Something not man? Hmmm.

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10) Fortunately, satan’s efforts will have only one last zenith and then he will be bound for 1000 years. He will be loosed for a short time, and then thrown alive into the lake of fire forever. Jesus triumphed on the cross and He is THE VICTOR. All who believe in Him are victors too.

Village in Barbados suffers demonic attack

This merits attention because it seems to be part of a pattern, weird as it is. And it is weird. But not unexpected. See what you think. This is out of Edey Village, Christ Church, Barbados. It’s not the whole article but it is most of it. If you want to read the whole article click on the link.

‘Demons’ step in
RESIDENTS of Edey Village, Christ Church, called on church leaders to exorcise what they believe to be demonic forces that have invaded the small, close-knit neighbourhood. For the past two weeks, residents have witnessed uncanny and unexplained events which led them to believe that evil forces had invaded the community. While many could not describe what the woman actually saw, they said she immediately started speaking in a foreign tongue and became delirious. (Left, the villagers on their prayer walk) Her family, well- respected members of the community, quickly summoned two church leaders and a group of “prayer warriors” to their home. The church group spent two days praying around the young woman. A member of the church group told the SATURDAY SUN that the voice coming from her was not her own, but that of an old man. “We prayed for two days asking God to spread the blood of Jesus on the young woman and to strike out the demon. After much praying on the second day we heard her say ‘thank you Jesus’ and the demon came out of her body and she fell limp”. However, another young woman, who lived next door, also fell victim to the demonic forces. “She was sitting on a chair in her living room when all of a sudden she was lifted high into the air and thrown outside in her backyard. She fell hard on the ground and started speaking in a foreign tongue,” a source said. The church group also prayed fervently for this second woman. “By the time we were finished praying for her she had lost a considerable amount of weight and the demon left her body,” the source continued. But sources say at least four more people in the district were affected and, as a result, a street prayer session was organised for Edey Village last Tuesday night. The Saturday SUN visited the area and witnessed residents and members of the church walking through the small district singing and praying for almost three hours.

“Whatever happened in Edey Village happened for a purpose. We can’t question it. That was the wake-up call for this village. This was a quiet village, but it is not anymore. Edey Village will never be the same again. We pray and ask God for deliverance. God sends warnings and then the destruction. This is a wake-up call.”

In Barbados, 82% of the population claim Christianity. These people who saw and are reporting these things are well-adjusted, adult, citizens. And there are a lot of them who are witnesses.

Also in the news in the last two weeks there was a 23-year-old man who quietly sat watching a vampire movie and died. He even died quietly, and no one knows why.

Then there was the woman in Colorado who was not drinking nor on drugs who said she saw a vampire and screeched her car to a stop and backed up so fast she went into a ditch instead.

How does this relate to prophecy? It may or it may not, but this we do know. In Genesis 6:1-4, the fallen angels were on the earth and they “saw the daughters of men and were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. The LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. The LORD said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them.”

This tells us that the fallen angels (demons) were active and that they will be again just prior to the last judgment. They were busy polluting the world and they are again. God rendered judgment, stayed it 120 years so Noah could build the ark and preach repentance, but the Flood eventually came and destroyed the evil. He would allow the righteous 8 comprising Noah’s family to start over.

Then Jesus said to the disciples in the Olivet Discourse that prior to the imminent judgment of the Tribulation, the days would be like Noah (Mt 24:37.) This is a fact.

Also fact is that Satan is the god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4). His demonic host is still following him. That they would appear as demonic entities or possess people is no hard task for them. After all, ‘Demons step in.’
