Devil attack at Trinidad & Tobago, follow up

On November 16 I reported (HERE) that an incident had occurred in an elementary school the previous week, in Trinidad & Tobago. Seventeen girls from the upper grades seemed to become suddenly demon-possessed. They exhibited behaviors such as the Gadarene demoniac had, and were en masse rushed to the hospital. Please read at the link for the initial story and background. But the first reporting is never the whole story. Stories unfold, as new details emerge. And new details have emerged as this incident becomes more fully known.

Here is one follow up to the original story-

Pupils collapse; parents want exorcist
“More than two dozen secondary school pupils were being treated at hospital last night, after they collapsed in their classrooms. And their parents are convinced that the teenagers, all girls, are possessed by demons and are pleading for an exorcist to intervene. The pupils were taken to the San Fernando General Hospital and Princes Town District Hospital but medical experts were unable to say what caused their children to scream and then collapse. “The children came in here, screaming. They shouting that a fireman running them down and they running around the wards. We are trying do simple tests, like blood pressure readings, and the machines are going crazy. I don’t know what is happening,” a nurse said.”

Hmmm. The school was in a panic. When transported to the hospital, the hospital went crazy. The machines used to test the girls were going crazy. Empirical data. However, psychiatrists are not convinced:

Mass hysteria, not demon attack, say mental health experts
“Mental health experts have dismissed claims of supernatural activity at the Moruga Secondary School where pupils reported being “attacked” by an unseen force yesterday and on Wednesday. Psychiatrist Dr Hari Maharajh said the “demon attack” appeared to be a case of mass hysteria. A similar opinion was given by consultant psychiatrist at the St Ann’s Mental Hospital Dr Iqbal Ghany.”

That prompted a reader to send a letter stating his opinion:

“Many faiths (Christianity, Islam and others) teach as doctrine the existence of unseen beings, albeit by differing names (ie jinn in Islam, spirits in Christianity). What is disappointing but not surprising, however, is that some intellectuals (self-proclaimed or degree-qualified, it doesn’t really matter) in our society seek to explain these strange occurrences from a psychological/scientific perspective. Their idea is what cannot be proven through the basic human senses cannot exist. There’s no denial this may be the case sometimes, but when there’s overwhelming opposing factors, one has to think twice. Qualified psychiatrists are dismissing the event as merely episodes of hysteria and copycat behaviour (psychological illnesses, not demons). We ask however, how will they explain to the many eyewitnesses (students, teachers, even MTS security guards) who saw unimaginable feats of strength (confirmed report), gravity defying leaps, speech in tongues and suicidal whispers (reported by a victim)?”

Which in turn prompted another reader to send in his opinion:

“The report of female students at a high school in south Trinidad simultaneously stricken by a mysterious illness, which had them fainting and flailing on the ground screaming, is rightfully a cause of great concern and fright for many. Given that T&T is a land ruled by the organised superstition we call religion, there is now the typical talk of demon possession, pagan devilry and spiritual forces at work in the school. Similar events like this have been recorded throughout history but it is only now they can be observed and scrutinised with the light of science and reason…”

People who believe and people who do not believe will go on back and forth ad nauseum. However, in researching the follow-up, one sentence in one of the articles alerted me to the true status of this incident. It convinced me it is a true case of demonic possession. Aside from the men in authority at the school observing that the girls were not faking and called EMTs, aside from the hospital workers trained to observe symptoms and deciding how to act accordingly, aside from the fact that the machines were “going crazy”, there is something embedded in the statement one parent made that prompted me to search further:

It turns out that Hindu Pandit Bramdeo Maharaj, former president of the Inter-Religious Organisation, had conducted a Hindu celebration at the class. One parent believes the demons were released during the Divali pooja (Hindu prayer) at the school. “I think the man (pundit) did something wrong and released bad spirits. I think the spirits are looking for souls, but I know what to do and they not getting my child,” he said.” His daughter, age 16, was being treated at the San Fernando General Hospital. “She is conscious and looks good. I heard that she had to be strapped down because she was uncontrollable. [italics mine].

Divali, or Diwali, is short for Deepawali, a pagan Hindi festival celebrating false deities. A pandit is a scholar, a teacher, particularly one skilled in Sanskrit and Hindu law, religion, music or philosophy. The English loan word pundit is derived from it. The background to the festival is that Narakasura, a demon, ruled the kingdom of Pradyoshapuram. Under his rule, the villagers suffered much hardship as the demon tortured the people and kidnapped the women to be imprisoned in his palace. Seeing his wickedness, Lord Khrishna set out to destroy the demon and the day Narakasura died was celebrated as Deepavali, the triumph of good over evil. Diwali commemorates the return of Lord Rama, along with Sita and Lakshman, from his fourteen-year-long exile and vanquishing the demon-king Ravana. In joyous celebration of the return of their king, the people of Ayodhya, the Capital of Rama, illuminated the kingdom with earthen diyas (oil lamps) and burst crackers.

The class was doing a pooja (puja) which is the act of showing reverence to a god, a spirit, or another aspect of the divine through invocations, prayers, songs, and rituals. An essential part of puja for the Hindu devotee is making a spiritual connection with the divine. Most often that contact is facilitated through an object. Shortly afterward the prayer, the girl called her father and mentioned that the classmates were “acting strangely.” When the father called his daughter back a little later, he was told she had been or was being transported to the hospital.

So! All becomes clear! We know that there is NO “connection with the divine” aside from walking in faith with the One True God. If people were making connections with the divine, invoking gods, or otherwise worshiping something other than Lord Christ, they were in fact consorting with demons.

If you ask a demon to come, he will. They seek lives. In the story from Mark, many of them possessed the man from Gesara. He lived in torment for years as the demons wrought havoc and violence with impunity. It got so bad that no one would even pass that way any more. When Jesus arrived, the demons begged Him not to send them from the area, but instead, at least, allow them to inhabit a body, any body, such as begging to be sent into the herd of pigs nearby. They want lives, as the parent said, and this is true. Satan comes to steal and destroy.

MARK 1:39 – “And He went through all Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and expelling the demons.”

If you are a Christian reading this who disbelieves that demonic possession can occur today, ask yourself why you disbelieve. Prior to the bible’s recording of Jesus expelling demons, no record exists of such expelling. That is because ONLY JESUS has that power. Then Jesus came and He demonstrated His power over them by casting them from bodies and locations. In Matthew 10:7-8 He gave the Apostles the power to cast out demons, again as a sign of who He is and that His power has now come to earth. (For the record, I believe only the Apostles had the power to expel demons, a sign that expired upon their death. My interpretation.) We are repeatedly told in the bible that the kingdom of satan is on the earth and its near environs (Eph 2:2; Job 1:7; Mt 4:8-9). Demons exist and they want you. Inviting them in through false gods is one easy way to enter. “When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first.” (Luke 11:24-26). The are aware, have intent, and will return, if your house is not filled with the Holy Spirit!

Those girls need prayer. They would not have been entered if they had been filled with the Spirit. Pray that they are convicted of their deeds (worshiping false gods for one) and that they will allow the Spirit of the One True God to fill their house, so that no spirit may ever enter again!

The coming oppression (it’s HERE)

“Don’t tase me, bro.” You might remember that colorful and oft-repeated phrase. Wikipedia describes:

“On September 17, 2007, U.S. Senator John Kerry addressed a Constitution Day forum at the University of Florida in Gainesville, which was organized by the ACCENT Speakers Bureau, an agency of the university’s student government. Initially allowed to ask questions after the close of the question period, Andrew Meyer, a 21-year-old fourth-year undergraduate mass communication student, was subsequently removed from the forum by university police. During the struggle to arrest Meyer, one of the officers drive stunned him with a Taser.” Several videos of the episode were then posted on the Internet. The most viewed version of the video, shot by Kyle Mitchell of The Gainesville Sun, has more than 5.1 million views on YouTube as of October 2010.[1] The New Oxford American Dictionary listed “tase/taze” as one of the words of the year for 2007, popularized by the widespread use of the phrase “Don’t tase me, bro!” The Yale Book of Quotations designated the same quote as the most memorable quote of 2007.”

Though there are always sides to take in any one incident, Myers’ arrest did spark a national debate, ignited because of the demonstrably increased use by police of tasers. Tasers are an elecro-shock device designed to override the normal control of muscles. They hurt. Recipients often scream. They immediately render the victim immobile. They are used by police to subdue fleeing, belligerent, or potentially dangerous subjects. Or in theory, at least. Unarmed citizens such as the 86-year-old bedridden grandmother have been tased. Or the 56-year-old mentally ill woman who was tasered for refusing to move. Or Michael Patrick Jacobs Jr., 24, who died after being jolted with a Taser by police when they responded to a call that he was causing a disturbance outside his family’s home on April 18. The first Taser shot was used to deliver 50,000 volts of electricity for 49 seconds, which is substantially longer than the standard five seconds. After the extended shock, Jacobs was shocked a second time for five more seconds.

After incidents like these (and many others) the nation has become increasingly upset at the police aggression, infringement on civil liberties, and brutality. (This is not an indictment of all police officers. Many are good and appropriately protective). A divide between regular citizenry and those in law authority having begun at Kent State…or Civil Rights marches, or at some point at the Revolutionary War…whenever it began, with the advent of tasers, the divide between those in authority with weapons and unarmed citizens widened.

Then came “Don’t touch my junk.”

A recent decision by the hired government agency Transportation Security Administration to fully pat-down all body areas of all fliers (who do not choose to endure a high-radiation naked body scanner, that is) has ignited the firestorm further.

John Tyner, on his way to So. Dakota to visit his father-in-law and do some pheasant hunting,  saw what was going on in the San Diego airport and turned on his cell phone video as he went through security. A supervisor is heard re-explaining the groin check process to Tyner then adding “If you’re not comfortable with that, we can escort you back out and you don’t have to fly today.” Tyner responded “OK, I don’t understand how a sexual assault can be made a condition of my flying.” “This is not considered a sexual assault,” replied the supervisor, calmly. “It would be if you were not the government,” said Tyner. He said, “”You touch my junk and I’m going to have you arrested.”

Full body pat-downs perpetrated by TSA at airports have occurred against a cancer survivor who was told to remove her prosthetic breast. Against a woman with two artificial knees. Against a screaming three-year old who yelled “STOP TOUCHING ME.”

The government’s intrusion on our lives has become intolerable. The government of the people, by the people, and for the people is now against the people. It dips its hands into private areas of our lives with such regularity that we have (almost) become inured to it. It touches our paychecks. It peeps into our streets with video, our workplaces. It spies on our civic lives, our computers, and our child rearing practices. Now it has its hands literally on our bodies. And on our children. The TSA agent responded to Tyner’s conversation thus:

“By buying your ticket you gave up a lot of rights.”

Flying is voluntary. It is not a necessity, it is a privilege and a convenience. I wrote about my own experience with pat-downs here. I opted out of the whole airport-security-government hands on my body thing in 2006. But the very idea that government has its hands ON our body in our private areas is revolting. It is something that many people are simply calling sexual assault.

But you ain’t seen nothing yet.

If you think government is intrusive now, the coming antichrist will be much worse. His global totalitarian regime will strip you of all you need to survive and not only put government’s hands on you, but IN you. On behalf of the antichrist, the False Prophet will “force everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.” (Rev 13:16-17). At the hands of the government, at some center or rehabilitation camp, or ‘re-education facility’, you will have to make the choice on whether to worship the beast (the antichrist) and in so choosing, will display that choice by an embedded mark on or in your body. Some have speculated that it will be a tattoo, or a bar code, or a chip like we actually have now that is embedded in the hand or the chest. In any case, you can take the mark. Or you can be beheaded. The False prophet will “cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.” (Rev 13:15b; Rev 20:4)

You will have a choice then, but so you have a choice today. You can accept Jesus today. In the case of choosing to accept Jesus as your Savior, the choice is infinitely better than the one in which the False Prophet forces you to worship the Beast. With Jesus you get an eternity of joy, peace, and good and fruitful work for Him. With the Beast you only receive death and an eternity apart from Jesus. But make the choice soon, because time is growing short.

Meanwhile, the government’s oppression of the people is so intrusive, so palpable, so repugnant, that it seems that the Mark may not be far behind. In any case, the prophesied totalitarian regime of the antichrist will come. It will make the days of TSA pat-downs seem like a pleasant picnic.

Bill Nye collapses, audience tweets instead of helps

You won’t believe this. Or maybe you will:

“Last night in front of an audience of hundreds at a presentation at the University of Southern California, TV personality Bill Nye — popularly known as the “Science Guy” — collapsed midsentence as he walked toward a podium. Early indications are that Nye is OK, but what’s odd about the incident isn’t so much Nye’s slight health setback as the crowd’s reaction. Or, more precisely, its nonreaction, according to several accounts. It appears that the students in attendance, rather than getting up from their seats to rush to Nye’s aid, instead pulled out their mobile devices to post information about Nye’s loss of consciousness. Alastair Fairbanks, a USC senior in attendance for Nye’s presentation, told the Los Angeles Times that “nobody went to his aid at the very beginning when he first collapsed — that just perplexed me beyond reason.” The student added, “Instead, I saw students texting and updating their Twitter statuses. It was just all a very bizarre evening.”

A man collapses in front of hundreds of people and NO ONE gets up to help. They just sit there, anxious to be the first to get it on their twitter status. UGH!

We are wicked. We are born wicked, we live wicked, and we die. Those that recognize their wickedness and repented before death will live with Jesus and those that didn’t, won’t. But the world is fallen and as the world grows older, it falls more and more into its wickedness with each passing day. All of time since Eden has been racing toward THIS moment, the imminence of His second coming. He comes because of the total depravity of man, and a world of cold-hearted people, the natural conclusion to our depravity. He will return to wipe out wickedness from the earth. Then He will wipe out the earth, and make a new one.

Until the moment He appears, the world will quickly descend into a deep wickedness that can barely be fathomed, let alone tolerated. Jesus said that the time right before His coming would be like the Days of Noah (Mt 24:37) and in the days of Noah, “The LORD saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.” That wickedness was why He sent the flood. And in the days right before the judgment coming soon upon all mockers and scoffers and unrepentant, will again be completely wicked. He said, “Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold.” (Mt 24:12)

Well, lawlessness is increased and people’s love has grown cold. That is the only way to state it, when a man lays moaning before hundreds, and they coldly text their friends that a man is moaning in front of them.

‘Devil attack’ at school in Trinidad & Tobago

I did a follow up here, with some more information that proved to be very interesting.

Trinidad & Tobago:
Panic after ‘Devil attack’ at school
“Panic broke out at the Moruga Composite School yesterday as 17 female students fell mysteriously ill and began rolling on the ground, hissing and blabbering in a strange tongue, after suffering bouts of nausea and headaches. Two of the students reportedly tried to throw themselves off a railing and had to be physically restrained, triggering fears of a possible demon attack. The drama started during the lunch hour in the Form One block and quickly spread to other areas. Form Five student Kern Mollineau, who attends the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church, said he got worried when the girls’ eyes began rolling up in their heads and they began beating up on the ground. With the assistance of several other students and teachers, the pupils were taken to the multi-purpose hall where some of them fell into a semi-conscious state.”

“Mollineau recalled: “One girl was blabbering as if in a strange language. I could not understand what she was saying. “It was sounding like ‘shebbaberbebeb shhhhee.’ The girls were unusually strong. We had to hold them down so that they will not hurt themselves. “The teachers were right there. I get a kick in my face when one of the girls started beating up on the floor. Many of them had bruises.” Mollineau claimed he actually communicated with the “devil which had possessed the girl. “I asked the Devil what he wanted with the girls and the voice said he wanted a life. He kept saying to send the girls in the toilet and to leave them alone,” Mollineau claimed.”

“Roman Catholic priests, as well as pastors from nearby churches, including Josephine Charles, Deborah Charles and Pastor Gordon, visited the school and began showering the children with holy water and prayers. Six ambulances arrived at the school accompanied by police teams from the Moruga and St Mary’s Police Post. A party of fire officers from the Princes Town Fire Station, led by acting Assistant Divisional Fire Officer Ramdeo Boodoo visited the school and began conducting several tests on the surroundings to determine the cause of the problem. Boodoo said there was nothing in the environment to trigger fainting spells, nausea and headaches.”

“A source at the school confirmed that all 17 pupils were taken to the Princes Town Health Facility where they were medically examined. The other students were sent home at 2 pm. Responding yesterday, Minister in the Ministry of Education Clifton de Coteau said he was aware that pupils had to be taken for medical attention. De Coteau said Student Support Service officials were sent to the school and students were expected to receive counselling. A statement from the Ministry of Education said the Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) made maxi taxis available to the school to assist the Office for Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) which provided additional ambulances.”

A similar incident occurred recently.  In France, west of Paris, a group jumped out of a window to escape the presence of the devil. The group had been holding a seance. A baby died in the fall from the window.

In July, the village of Edey in Barbados suffered what locals call a demonic attack. In an article titled,  ‘Demons’ step in, it is reported “RESIDENTS of Edey Village, Christ Church, called on church leaders to exorcise what they believe to be demonic forces that have invaded the small, close-knit neighbourhood. For the past two weeks, residents have witnessed uncanny and unexplained events which led them to believe that evil forces had invaded the community. While many could not describe what the woman actually saw, they said she immediately started speaking in a foreign tongue and became delirious. Her family, well- respected members of the community, quickly summoned two church leaders and a group of “prayer warriors” to their home. The church group spent two days praying around the young woman. A member of the church group told the SATURDAY SUN that the voice coming from her was not her own, but that of an old man. “We prayed for two days asking God to spread the blood of Jesus on the young woman and to strike out the demon. After much praying on the second day we heard her say ‘thank you Jesus’ and the demon came out of her body and she fell limp”. However, another young woman, who lived next door, also fell victim to the demonic forces. “She was sitting on a chair in her living room when all of a sudden she was lifted high into the air and thrown outside in her backyard. She fell hard on the ground and started speaking in a foreign tongue,” a source said. The church group also prayed fervently for this second woman. “By the time we were finished praying for her she had lost a considerable amount of weight and the demon left her body,” the source continued. But sources say at least four more people in the district were affected and, as a result, a street prayer session was organised for Edey Village last Tuesday night. The Saturday SUN visited the area and witnessed residents and members of the church walking through the small district singing and praying for almost three hours.”

The New Testament is full of instances of demonic possession. In Matthew 17:14-20 we read, “When they came to the crowd, a man approached Jesus and knelt before him. “Lord, have mercy on my son,” he said. “He has seizures and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. 16 I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him.” “You unbelieving and perverse generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me.” Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed at that moment. Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?” He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

The Gadarene demoniac was so strong he broke the chains the townspeople keep him in, and he was so loud his screaming could be heard for quite a distance. (Mark 5:2-20). As John MacArthur said in his most recent sermon, we read so often of demon possession in the NT because the presence of Jesus drew them out. Demons were always present on the earth, but they hate the light: “For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. “But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.” So in Jesus’ day and the Apostles’ day they were seen because the light shone so brightly.

Those who were possessed in the article above demonstrated similar behaviors as some of the demonic possessions described in the bible. I am not saying that the Trinidad & Tobago demonic possessions were genuine or that they were not genuine, but demons exist, they possess, and their time is coming.

"The international monetary system has failed"

The bible shows us that by the time of the first judgments of the tribulation which are the four horsemen, that currency is worth next to nothing for most people. The third horseman is the one carrying the scales in his hand, with the angel saying that a loaf of bread costs a day’s pay.

“When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!”(Rev 6:5-6) I believe that the scales are held aloft to show the relative value of currency and food. The only thing that matters, practically, for our fleshly body is food and water. Without either, one cannot live. Yet the fourth seal judgment is death and one of the ways of death is famine.

“When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!”  I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.” (Rev 6:7-8)

Imagine toiling all day just to buy a loaf of bread to feed your family! Imagine further that your daily toil only earns you a few dollars, or perhaps many dollars but it takes a wheelbarrow full of them to buy that one loaf. Currency is so devalued by the time the first set of judgments come around that it is for all intents and purposes, worthless. But we are told that the currency will be worthless, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.” (Mt 6:19) and “Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes.” (James 5:2)

Wealth is rotting! Worthless! Has no buying power! We’re almost there!

Ireland is failing. A bank run this weekend cost 10 bn. “There was a bank run in Ireland on Wednesday. LCH Clearnet, a London based clearinghouse, surprised the markets by announcing it would increase margin requirements on Irish debt by 15 percent. That’s all it took to send investors fleeing for the exits. Yields on Irish bonds spiked sharply as banks tried to close positions or raise the capital needed to meet the new requirements. The Irish 10-year bond soared to 8.9 percent by day’s end, more than 6 percentage points higher than “risk free” German sovereign debt. The ECB will have to intervene. Ireland is on its way to default.”

French citizens are calling for a bank run. In this google-translated article:
‘French activists call for a Europe-wide and joint account termination on 7 December 2010. “Everyone should get his money from the account.” What does this protest? In France the last few weeks has been enough protest. Since demonstrating in the street have brought us nothing we understand that the real power lies in the hands of international banks and corporations. All citizens of the country resolve your accounts in cash. The activists suggest, one can first put the money in a suitcase or invest it in a social bank.
So far 7000 people have signed up.'”

Greece’s debt load is staggering, more than even previously suspected: “The ratio of deficit to GDP for the country is the highest in the eurozone and the EU as a whole, even though Ireland is in 2010 expected to leapfrog Greece due to the cost of bank rescues. The country’s overall public debt meanwhile amounted to 126.8 percent of GDP, also up from the 115.1 spring estimate from Eurostat.”

In the US, we are not doing so well either. “Regulators Closed Three Banks, Bringing the Total Number of Bank Failures in 2010 to 146“. On Friday, Federal and State regulators closed another three banks, two in Georgia and one in Arizona, as the total number of bank failures this year rise to 146, surpassing 2009 which saw a total of 140 bank failures. The three failed banks had assets totaling $1.0 billlion and are estimated to cost the FDIC a total of $204.4 million.”

There is a currency war going on right now among the top nations of the globe, the Daily Star reported. “Currency now seems to have become a new “weapon” in the arsenals of developed and emerging economies. Earlier it was “tariff,” which was used by different nations to regulate the direction of trade. So now we are witnessing “currency war” instead of “tariff war.” US has been saying for some time now that China needs to revalue it currency. It blames the artificially devalued Yuan as the main cause for its enormous trade surplus and consequent economic growth. US also wanted a concrete timetable to remove trade imbalances and asked trade surplus nations to take steps to reduce their surplus. Economic theory says that when a nation devalues its currency, all other variables remaining constant, its exportable becomes cheaper, which boosts export earning. Alternatively, instead of devaluing, a country can prevent the currency from rising in value. The US Federal Reserve is accused of trying to devalue the dollar to boost exports. China, Brazil, South Africa and Germany stiffly opposed the move and pointed out that the attempt by the US Federal Reserve to inject $600 billion in the US economy will effectively devalue the US dollar. That, they say, will have terrible implications for the world economy. Other countries will also be tempted to devalue their money to protect their industries and exports. In fact it will start a “currency war,” from which no one will gain. The Federal Reserve says it is “quantitative easing” (QE) to spur growth.”

 The Telegraph UK’s article “How the Tea Party is brewing up trouble for the world’s currencies” they wrote something VERY interesting:

“The Seoul summit, with its botched compromises and unresolved differences, has only underlined the problem. It acknowledged that there is a growing tension between nations over their currency policies, but revealed that no one can agree on what to do about it. It stopped short of banning competitive devaluation, or setting limits on current account deficits or surpluses, instead retrenching to tried-and-tested phrases from previous agreements. It isn’t merely that the summit failed to come up with any decent solutions: it failed to diagnose the problem itself properly. The fact that countries are becoming aggressive about currencies is merely a symptom of a far deeper issue: that the international monetary system has failed, and there is no one willing or able to come up with a reconstruction job.”

Yes, the international monetary system has failed. Rev 6 shows us that. It is interesting that the first seal is the antichrist loosed upon the world. The third seal is the devalued currency and worthlessness of its buying power. However, there WILL be one person able, willing, and prophesied to step up to the job: the antichrist. By Revelation 13:15-17 the False Prophet is putting the mark on people, the mark of the Beast, without which no one can buy nor sell. And where power exists of determining who may “buy and sell,” there is absolute control over the wealth of the world.

And we are almost there. If economists are saying that the international monetary system has failed, and is actively looking for someone, anyone, to step up and fix it, you know that the antichrist is about to ride. And before he rides, we are taken off this earth and into the arms of Jesus. Lord, soon come!

NASA to anounce discovery of "exceptional object" in our cosmic neighborhood (UPDATED)

The discovery  is from Chandra X-ray, not the discovery of Fermi’s Gamma Ray bubbles (Fermi is a gamma ray telescope). So I wonder what it could be? Now, I’ve hung in with NASA on several of these announcements. They always turn out to be discovery of an ice ball circling Pluto, or something. But I always get sucked in anyway, and especially now with the worl turning upside down and knowing what the LORD is planning for the heavens, soon, I thought I’d post again and then keep you updated when it turns out to be a discovery of the cosmos’s smallest asteroid or something, lol.

NASA Announces Televised Chandra News Conference

“WASHINGTON — NASA will hold a news conference at 12:30 p.m. EST on Monday, Nov. 15, to discuss the Chandra X-ray Observatory’s discovery of an exceptional object in our cosmic neighborhood. The news conference will originate from NASA Headquarters’ television studio, 300 E St. SW in Washington and carried live on NASA TV.  Media representatives may attend the conference, join by phone or ask questions from participating NASA locations. UPDATE: well, it turned out NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory has picked up what appears to be the youngest black hole we’ve discovered near our planet. This object could however instead be the youngest documented neutron star. Either way, it’s an exciting find.

According to the history of the area, at USGS, the Yemen-Gulf of Aden-Djibouti area IS seismic, but in a minor way. Between 1950 through yesterday this area had 56 earthquakes ranging between mag 4.0-5.9. There were no quakes greater than mag 5.9 during that date range. Now there have been 31 (as of 1:00pm), which is 2/3 as many as in the last sixty years. This is statistically significant, as well as prophetically interesting. (Mark 13:8)

New update 11/15/10: There have been 42 earthquakes now. There has been an average of one EQ every half an hour of a magnitude of +/- 5.0. Something is happening there and/or about to happen. That, combined with the eruption of the al-Tair volcano just north in the Red sea in 2007, and the African fissure opening up to form a new ocean (see my above comment for links to both news/science items) and seeing that this spot is one of the most important shipping lanes in the world, and knowing that Yemen is a hotbed of terrorism and the seas around this area are a hotbed of piracy … one can only say “COME SOON LORD!”

Food inflation is here: General Mills will be first to raise cereal prices

I mentioned in this week’s The End Time in an essay I’d written about food inflation, and that the costs haven’t been passed on to the consumer yet. That article is here: click here. I’d posted: “The report highlights how despite cotton rising by 54%, corn rising by 29%, soybeans rising by 22%, orange juice rising by 17%, and sugar rising by 51% during the months of September and October alone, these huge commodity price increases have yet to make their way into America’s grocery stores because corporations have been reluctant to pass these price increases along to the consumer. In today’s dismal economy, no retailer wants to be the first to dramatically raise food prices.”

That was last week.

It seems that General Mills will be the first to raise those prices, reluctantly. The CEO’s savvy business knowledge is probably right on: it won’t be long before all the cereal companies raise their prices, following General Mills’ lead. The difference int he CPI and the CI is startling. That gap has to close sometime. The article below from Bloomberg and the chart below shows where we are headed. Cereal prices are set to increase Monday.

The blue line is the Commodity Index, what it costs to make the food from the raw commodity. The red line is the Consumer Price Index, the prices the consumers have been paying. There’s quite a gap.

“General Mills Inc. showed where U.S. food prices are headed by making some of its breakfast cereals and baking products more expensive, according to Christopher Growe, a Stifel Nicolaus Co. analyst.  As the CHART OF THE DAY shows, retail prices for food are lower than they were in May though the cost of farm commodities has soared. The food component of the U.S. consumer price index and a gauge of agricultural-product prices, compiled by UBS AG and Bloomberg, were used to make the comparison.  General Mills, the maker of Cheerios, Chex and Wheaties, will raise cereal prices on Nov. 15. The increase will affect about 25 percent of its cereal production and amount to a “low single-digit” percentage, Kirstie Foster, a company spokeswoman, wrote today in an e-mail. “While General Mills may be the first of the large food companies to really press higher on pricing, we believe many others may follow,” Growe wrote. “It’s just a matter of time, given what is coming down the pike in the way of inflation.”

Rev 6:6 is not far behind. “Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a day’s wages, and three quarts of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!” And Rev 6:8, the famine: I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.”

Missile over CA & Canada, something over NY; EMP, and QE2 infuriates China

There is so much to talk about these days, I have started at least four blog entries this morning and am at wit’s end with the volume of information coming at me that bespeaks imminent disaster, rapture, and spiritual upheaval. It is as if I live with a thousand clarion bells ringing all the time and cannot remove myself from the din.

On Andrew Breitbart’s site, an excellent essay by conservative columnist and military security analyst Frank Gaffney discusses the very real possibility that the west coast missile launch (which was NOT one of ours) was a test launch for a possible EMP strike. Here is his essay. Gaffney was one of the first to bring attention to the devastating effects of an electro-magnetic pulse detonated above our nation’s heartland. He is part of the Center for Security Policy and their explanatory video titled “A Terrorist’s Dream” is below.

Interestingly, the scenario posited in the video where a nuke is launched from a freighter anchored near shore or on one of our rivers is one that Joel C. Rosenberg wrote about in his book Dead Heat.  If you know Rosenberg’s books you know that most of the scenarios he has written about have come true.

The threats to Americans are coming from any and all fronts, including the front that is above us. But the threats to America are not the only threats. The entire globe is at risk; spiritually, militarily, physically, and economically. The latest economic news is dire. The Federal Reserve’s decision to flood the world with more fiat dollars has angered the world, most of all our biggest debt-holder, China. Their contention is that printing more money aids the US (in the short run only, because the United States’ bankruptcy is a mathematical certainty) but is an aggressive act that will directly harm the rest of the world’s economies. Not only that, but many believe we are in a war at this moment: a currency war, trade war, that will only worsen and likely spill over to a military war. China has been demonstrating maritime aggression against Japan for many months. They have been aggressive on the high seas toward the US for many months. The Telegraph UK wrote today, “The rest of the world goes West when America prints more money” with the unusually stark words, “America is now isolated and the rest of the world is furious.” Hal Lindsey’s report out today has a good explanation of Quantitative Easing2, and at the end of the short clip, he entreats with fervor to come to the Lord. All the pieces are in place, and our departure could be imminent, he pleads to unbelievers.

In the Singapore News “Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has said that the US-China currency issue will not amount to a war but frictions can be expected. He was addressing business executives on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Yokohama where leaders from 21 APEC economies meet to free up trade among members.” Just the fact that they are dismissing the likelihood of war is cause for concern. If there was no chance of war then why take the time to defensively dismiss the possibility?

The unknown missile last week launched 35 miles off our western coast of California was not a contrail, for heaven’s sakes. Any thinking person with eyeballs in their head could see that. The unnerving thing about that incident was that the Pentagon was silent about who may have done it, unless, of course, the incident took them completely by surprise.

It seems that another missile/UFO/contrail/optical illusion took New Yorkers by surprise this week too. A bright and fast-moving light can be seen just to the right of the Empire State Building at sunset. The astronomer they contacted said it was a contrail. And the wrap-up to the reporter’s story was that “the aliens are apparently not coming.” In the segue, the reporters mentioned the CA missile was stated to be a contrail as well, and the other reporter said outright that she didn’t buy that explanation. LOL.

Did you know that Canada had their own missile scare earlier this year? The exact same thing happened as in California. CTV received photos from eyewitnesses, who contacted “an unnamed top astronomer” who in turn said it was a contrail.

“It all began around 5 p.m. Monday when Darlene Stewart of Harbour Mille, N.L., was outside snapping photos of a sunset, when she saw a long, thin glimmering object in the sky that appeared as if it came out of water. The photos she took show a thin object shooting into the air, with a tail of fire and smoke.”

Yeah. It’s a contrail. They’re all contrails.

The population of the globe is at risk militarily and economically, that much we know. We also know the risks of physical danger. Earthquake activity is up, volcanic activity is up, and also crime is up. In New York City’s Central Park, crime is spiking upward 52% in this year’s first 7 months as compared to 2009. In addition, the city is currently on track for a double-digit increase in the murder rate this year, according to the latest crime statistics. Homicides totaled 464 through Thursday, up 16 percent from the 400 reported at this time last year, and only seven less than the total from 2009. North of NY, “crime on Metro-North Railroad trains and at stations has jumped 40 percent over last year, but the railroad said that increase follows a drop in felonies last year. Neither year saw any murders or rapes, but robberies were up 78 percent and grand larcenies 47 percent through October, according to statistics released Friday. He said rail officials had not determined any particular reason for this year’s spike.”

And it is not just the big cities. Property theft has spiked in the rural areas of my location. Anecdotally, two years ago a colleague reported a daytime break-in and we were completely shocked. Nowadays, it seems as though there is one person a week reporting a property theft, break-in, or car pilfering.

We are also spiritually at risk. Left unbelieving, all people are at risk for believing the lie that will fool the whole world. The antichrist is coming and his false religion will pervade it, sending many who accept it to their eternal doom. With all the risks these days, why not accept the only sure thing there is? JESUS. He is forever, His Word is forever. Joy in Him is forever.
