Hundreds of snapper wash up on NZ beaches: "carpet of dead fish as far as the eye can see" UPDATED: fish kill in FL

UPDATE! Fish Kill in FL, thousands. More below.
UPDATE TO UPDATE: Millions of dead fish in MD. more below
UPDATE YET AGAIN, tons of fish die in Brazil. More below, where I’m running out of room!

It is being reported: “Hundreds of dead snapper have washed up on Coromandel beaches, leaving holidaymakers perplexed. People at Little Bay and Waikawau Bay, on the north-east of the peninsula, were stunned when children came out of the sea with armfuls of the fish and within minutes the shore was littered with them. Charlotte Pearsall, whose family have lived at Little Bay for the last 30 years, said she had never seen anything like it. ”It was so surreal,” she said. ”It’s such an incredible waste – it could’ve fed the whole northern tip of the Coromandel.” People with binoculars said the snapper stretched as far as they could see and boaties reported ”a carpet of floating fish further out to sea all along the coast”. ”We initially thought ‘woohoo a free feed’ but they had really cloudy eyes and you could see the birds had been at them. Some of them had no eyes,” Pearsall said. Her parents called the Department of Conservation and were told it was most likely the fish had starved due to weather conditions, but Pearsall did not think that was the case as many of the fish looked big and healthy. The Fisheries Ministry are currently investigating the situation and said they could not yet say what the cause was.

Yesterday and the day before I’d reported on the dead fish washing up along 20 miles of shoreline at Arkansas River. Experts don’t know why so many birds have died there. Other stories of dead and dying birds falling from the sky in Arkansas, Chile, Kentucky and Louisiana have captured the world’s attention. I managed to post those stories a day or so prior to the mainstream news catching it (and Kentucky and Chile’s bird fish events are STILL unreported in the US) and my page hits have skyrocketed. Except for the earthquake swarm at Yellowstone and the Iceland volcano Katla rumblings, no blog post has garnered so much attention so instantly. Why? These matters are unexplained as yet and have tottered the already- nervous world. Because these events have an end of days feel about them. Economies are explained, even crashing ones. Earthquakes have always happened. Volcanoes have always erupted, say the scoffers. But 5000 dead birds falling on our head? Not a usual event. 100,000 dead fish going belly up? These things just plainly are spiritually spooky.

Many non-believers have even likened these events to the end of days. Yesterday even MSNBC went on about these events in a news story about the Rapture Group led by Harold Camping promoting the certain date of the rapture as May 21, 2011. They call their group “You Can Know”. Even though the bible says “You Can’t Know“. Sigh. Anyway, I had previously reported on that group, here, and as you may imagine, not positively. MSNBC’s article about the You Can Know group is called “End of days in May? Believers enter final stretch.”

Unfortunately, when reported in the mainstream news, the MSM will always pick the craziest religious gang and represent that as mainstream Christianity, when it is far from it. The thousands of dead birds and dead fish have definitely spooked the world though. And the incidents keep on rolling out. This latest one in New Zealand adds to the ever-growing list.

Are these signs from God? I think they may be. We do know that Luke 21:11 records Jesus saying that in the end days “There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.” Incidentally there was a rare solar eclipse today.

Pestilences are an interesting thing to focus on. Thousands of dead fish promote disease, taint the water, wreck food supply. It could be one way God brings one of the promised pestilences. Thousands of dead birds littering the lawns, water sources, and streets of Beebe Arkansas may bring avian flu. I don’t know, but these events are strange enough and out of the scope of experts to (as yet) explain them, that one simply wonders from whence direction the NEXT THING will come? From under the ground in an earthquake? From the sky with dead and possibly diseased birds falling on you?

The end times are characterized as birth pangs, and we know that as the big event gets closer the contractions become more frequent and intense. The event being birthed is the Millennium Kingdom, and the contractions are frequent and intense. The 7 years prior to the Millennium Kingdom are known as the Tribulation, and I believe we can almost hear the indrawn breath of the Trumpet blower, as he readies the call for us to “Come Up Hither!” (Rev 4:1)

UPDATE**************
Thousands of dead fish are floating in Volusia County Tuesday. They were all in Spruce Creek in Port Orange. The fish kill is unusual, according to people who live along the creek, because it’s warm. It’s been a week since there were freezing temperatures, but there are fish lining the banks. Some said it’s the worst kill they’ve ever seen; thousands of fish lined the twists and turns of Spruce Creek. The sheer number of fish and the smell were both overwhelming. “It was fun last night trying to sleep with the smell going on,” said resident Sunny Morningstar.”

UPDATE TO UPDATE*****************
State officials say they are investigating a “very large” fish kill in the Chesapeake Bay, but suspect cold temperatures killed them, rather than any water-quality problems. An estimated 2 million fish have been reported dead from the Bay Bridge south to Tangier Sound, according to the Maryland Department of the Environment, which investigates fish kills. The dead fish are primarily adult spot, with some juvenile croakers.”

ANOTHER UPDATE*************
“A survey conducted by the Federation of Fishermen’s Colony of Paraná, Paranaguá on the coast of the state, indicates that at least 100 tons of fish (sardine, croaker and catfish) have turned up dead since last Thursday off the coast of Parana. Apart from Paranagua, Ferreira said the dead fish are starting to appear in other coastal towns. “The dead fish are going to Antonina, and Guaraqueçaba Pontal do Paraná. We need an urgent solution to this,” he warns. More here, google translated from Portuguese

And now for something completely different

There are some weird phenomena happening today! In this first story, take note of the other-worldliness of the event, and how freaked out the people are.

In Arkansas, thousands of blackbirds fall to the ground, dead.
“Just before folks in Beebe rang in the New Year, many witnessed an uncanny resemblance to the Hitchcock movie “The Birds.” About 2,000 black birds fell from the sky off Windwood Drive, leaving quite the mess to clean up. Folks Today’s THV spoke with initially thought the birds were poisoned because they are what they call a nuisance around this time every year, but they are surprised to hear it is more of a mystery. Stephen Bryant recalls, “Millions, millions fly over every night. You look up at the sky and it’s just black and then last night at about 10:30 I came out here and saw a bird drop.” In a matter of hours on New Years Eve thousands of birds fell from the sky to their death. Melissa Weatherly says, “I immediately called mom because I had to go to work, I said you have to come get the kids and get the dog because I don’t know what’s going on.” She continues, “It was horrible; you could not even get down the road without running over hundreds. It was that bad.”

“The mystery is unraveling like scenes from a movie, dozens of U.S. Environmental Services crews spent the day picking up the birds, walking between homes and climbing on roofs with protective hazmat suits and breathing masks. Charles Boldrey stands outside watching the crews, “Nobody knows, I asked these guys who are out here picking them up and they don’t seem to know anything. Nobody seems to know anything. It just kind of freaked everybody out.”

“Officials with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission flew over the area and determined it’s a one mile stretch. There are a variety of dead black birds, mostly red winged and a duck was also found. No one has been evacuated because the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) air test came back clean for toxins. Weatherly is skeptical, “They’re walking around in masks and I’m wondering do we need the same thing because what makes that happen for them to drop out of the sky like that.” Katherina Yancy with Today’s THV found one bird still living. It was confused, injured, continuously walked in circles and didn’t make a sound or attempt to fly. Officials will confirm their findings when they get the test results, until then they are giving these possible scenarios: lightning, stress, high altitude hail or startled by fireworks, but neighbors just want answers. Bryant says, “Something out of a movie and Hazmat people are walking around not telling us anything.”Boldrey adds, “I’d like to know. Kind of spooky, you never know what’s going to happen.”

“The birds should be cleaned up by Sunday. Game and Fish Commission’s Karen Rowe says poisoning doesn’t appear to be the case and strange events similar to this have occurred across the globe a number of times. The City of Beebe held an emergency city council meeting Saturday morning to approve paying the U.S. Environmental Services to clean the neighborhood.Sixty-five dead birds have been sent to off for testing.”

In another mystery, in Arkansas, hundreds of thousands of fish wash up, dead.

State commission says dead fish now cover 20-mile section of Arkansas River
An Arkansas Game and Fish Commission spokesman says dead drum fish now cover a 20-mile section of the Arkansas River near Ozark. Seven teams from the state agency visited the affected portion of the river Friday. Commission spokesman Keith Stephens says an official estimate of how many fish have died is expected on Monday, but he tells the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that the number is likely in the hundreds of thousands. The commission determined the fish died in the river from a dam near Ozark to a bridge along State Highway 109 near Clarksville.

Another article about it is here, containing video.

And in other ongoing global mysteries, blackbirds fall to the ground dead in Chile. Below is a Spanish-language news spot about it, I haven’t found any other news of it yet in English. The news scrolling across the bottom of the video is translated “hundreds of black petrels appear dead on the north coast of Bio Bio Chile.” Even if you don’t understand Spanish, the video of dead birds inexplicably laying on the beach is startling. The tagline says “Strange Phenomenon”
