Left Behind ‘Rapture Sheet’: In case of rapture, break glass, read this first

Hello all,

Published in January 2011 I am re-posting this, with an addition.
————————————-
I finished a project I’ve been working on all day. Like all Christians, we feel a burden for the lost. That is why we bring up Jesus to people even though we know some people will get aggravated or even reject us. Well, a few months ago the Holy Spirit gave me a burden for doing a certain project. You see, we will be raptured soon. I don’t know exactly when, no one does. (Matthew 24:36 says “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”) But Paul said we who believe and are watching will not be surprised, “But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled.” (1 Thessalonians 5:4-6). The rapture will come as the punctuation of the end of the Church age and as the opening bell for the Tribulation. “The Day” is the 7 year period of judgment on the world.

In finishing John MacArthur’s book “Because the End is Near: An explanation of the Book of Revelation” the judgments on the unbelieving world were brought graphically home to me. You do not want your worst enemy to go through that. The rapture will happen at some point and since most people are at work 8 hours/day or longer, there is a one-in-three chance it will occur while we are at work. Imagine your colleagues’ confusion, fear, grief. Some who know about Jesus but never repented will know what happened. Others will have no clue. They are the children of darkness Paul mentioned, who are asleep. How will they know what had happened? How will they know what to do?

The idea was to put in the “starter verses” to help people orient themselves quickly to the new reality of the post-rapture. The urgency is very real. They’ll need access to the truth right away, and they need to get saved ASAP. The bible says that a delusion will come upon the whole world after the rapture happens, (“They refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false…” 2 Thess 2:10b-11). We don’t know when that delusion will kick in, but my sense is that it will come upon the world soon after the Lord takes His children home. So it is important that those who are left behind have access to the only guide to truth that there is, and also can get fast references that will immediately answer what will likely be their very pressing questions.

I tried to keep it simple and direct. I also thought it important to keep it to one page (both sides). I tape or staple the paper into the front cover of the bible so it won’t get separated from the word in context. They don’t need a treatise, they need answers. I put tabs/post-it notes on the bible pages that matched the verses on the paper so they can read them in context. I put “Open in case of rapture” on the front so they will know that THIS bible is different and the one to turn to after everything falls apart. There is a Mormon bible, a Catholic bible and other bibles that do not present the truth as Jesus delivered it. They won’t know the difference so it’s important to get this ball rolling early and station these bibles in obvious places so people have access to them first.

The bibles can be given to unbelieving family members or friends, put anonymously in your work place, dropped at your club or athletic field house or gym. If giving directly to friends or family, you could tell them it doesn’t take up room and to just put it in your drawer or on your nightstand, and take it out when we’re gone. Just the seriousness of the gift will hopefully instill in them a realization that you are very certain of this event happening and very loving toward them, and thus giving it to them will make an impression. The longer the bibles are out and about the more likely it is that a person will turn to it after the rapture. They are not expensive and can be gotten at the Dollar Store. Start your project now, ask the Spirit to lead you to who or where to prepare some bibles.

Here is the “Rapture Sheet” below. If you like it, please feel free to copy it for yourself. Or, pray to the Spirit who will lead you to verses He knows people need in your place of employment, club, gym… Below is the Cheat Sheet. Thank you for reading this.
—————————————-

Where did they go?

If you are reading this, then it means that the rapture occurred. The rapture is a term for the moment Jesus calls to His believers, resurrecting the dead in Christ and bringing the already living believers up to heaven to be with Him. Here it is in scripture:

1 Thessalonians 4:15-17
“For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”

1 Corinthians 15:51-52
“Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.”

Why did it happen?

We were living in what was called the Church Age, AKA the New Testament times. In Old Testament times the people lived under the Law (The Ten Commandments.) The Old Testament folks had faith, but the faith was that their Messiah would come. Jesus the Messiah had not come yet. But in order to demonstrate that faith in the future promise of Messiah’s coming, and to be cleansed from their sins, they had to kill an animal twice a day and sacrifice it. Why? The blood is the life. (Deuteronomy 12:23). “For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life.” (Leviticus 17:11). Then Jesus came, but the Jews didn’t recognize Him as Messiah, or those that did, rejected Him. When Jesus died, was resurrected and ascended into heaven, everything changed. Believers no longer needed to sacrifice because Jesus was the sacrifice. He shed His OWN blood for us! As a result of the Jews’ rejection of Him, Jesus has spent the last 2000 years building His church from Gentile peoples (Romans 11:25, Acts 15:14-17). Now the Church Age is over, He is returning His attention to the Jews, and now it is Judgment time for all of those left behind.
Why weren’t we taken?

You might wonder about people whom you thought were Christians who are still here. Not everyone who professed Jesus was truly saved. We cannot tell who is saved and who is not, but Jesus knows who is who. He took the true believers. Intellectual assent is not saving faith. Tradition is not saving faith. Church-going habit is not saving faith. Only true believers were taken. A true believer is described in John 6:29: “Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.” God sent Jesus to die for your sins, as the eternal sacrifice to satisfy His justice. Sin must be punished, because it is a crime. Jesus took the punishment and paid the debt for all sins forever. As a result, you would have been pardoned- IF you had believed! But you chose to reject Jesus’ pardon, during the now concluded Church Age, or you added to belief in Him with a man-made rules or tradition. So, you are here now. John 11:25 “Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.” Do you believe this? I hope the rapture convinced you to believe it!

What will happen next?

Unfortunately, you are in for the roughest time that there ever was and ever will be. Jesus said “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened. (Matthew 24: 21-22). He is saying that if the Tribulation went on longer than 7 years surely EVERY person would die! The Tribulation is when Jesus will pour out His anger against sin and sinners. Christians do not have to endure it because we took the pardon and believed in Him before the rapture, or before they died. So Jesus removed us from this terrible time. Jesus will send increasingly terrible judgments on the earth to punish sinners. Starting now, ¼ of earth’s population will die in war and famines and diseases. Then another 1/3 will die, equaling half the globe’s population before the Tribulation is even half over! Your life is at extreme risk. If you die before asking Jesus forgiveness of your sins and becoming a believer in Him, you will go to hell forever. Sin is real. God’s judgment of sin is real. Satan is real. Hell is real. The coming Antichrist is real. Everything in the bible is real. Not any other book. Not the Mormon bible. Not the Catholic bible. Only the Christian BIBLE is truth!

What must I do to be saved?

You must repent. The jailer at Philippi saw the marvelous joy in Paul and Silas, even while they were chained in the lowest jail, and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you & your household.” (Acts 16:30-31). You have to believe that your sins prevented you from being raptured and will prevent you from going to heaven when you die. Sins are your wrong thoughts, words, and deeds against God. Everyone has wrong thoughts, words, deeds, so that means everyone sins! You need to be sorry for them, and have faith in Jesus. King David was sorry, in Psalm 38:4 he said: “My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear.” Do you feel guilty for your sins? You should. They are crimes against a Holy God. Do as David did: “I confess my iniquity; I am troubled by my sin.” (Psalm 38:18). In so doing you acknowledge that Jesus is the only person who CAN forgive them, having lived a sinless life and shedding His blood as the pure sacrifice for YOU. Once you do this, He will forgive you and then He will send the Holy Spirit to you to help you understand the bible. If you do not confess and come to faith in Jesus, the Bible will never make sense. And worse, you will be at risk from the lying delusion coming upon the whole earth.

What if I wait and see how things go before I confess and repent?

Don’t do it! A great delusion will come over the whole world and those who are not saved in faith by Jesus’ blood will believe the delusion. The bible says, “The coming of the lawless one (ANTICHRIST) is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12)

The Good News is, Jesus still loves you and wants you! If you repent and ask Him to forgive, He will. You’ll still go through the horrendous times, but when you die you will go to heaven and live forever with Jesus. Your first step is to repent & believe, and you will be saved from hell. Also, you will then understand the bible. The bible tells you what to do and what will happen next. The most important thing to remember is, JESUS LOVES YOU! Don’t mess it up again. Repent now!!!!!!!

In surprise move, Netanyahu, Mofaz agree to form unity government, cancel early elections

When Israeli Prime Minister announced earlier in the week that he planned to call elections for Sept 4, a year early, speculation abounded that he had wanted to form a strong and unified government so that any palnned or alleged upcoming attack against Iran would be backed solidly by the Parliament.

Joel Rosenberg wrote:
“Some key Israeli political analysts speculate Netanyahu wants to consolidate his political power and strengthen his coalition — polls show Likud poised to rise from 27 to possibly 31 seats — in order to launch a preemptive military strike on Iran in September or October, after the Israeli elections but before the American elections…”

The speculation was, that early elections would mean an October strike date against Iran by Israel. However all bets and speculations are now off, or need to be revised. Because now, just as suddenly as the early elections were called for, they are cancelled. Get this headline from just now:

In surprise move, Netanyahu, Mofaz agree to form unity government, cancel early elections
“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and opposition chairman MK Shaul Mofaz (Kadima) reached a surprise agreement early Tuesday morning to form a national unity government. The move came as the Knesset was preparing to disperse for early elections, which were expected to be scheduled for September 4. Under the agreement, Kadima will join Netanyahu’s government and commit to supporting its policies through the end of its term in late 2013. Mofaz is expected to be appointed deputy prime minister, as well as minister without portfolio. In exchange, Netanyahu’s government will support Kadima’s proposal to replace the Tal Law, which enables ultra-Orthodox youth to defer national service. The sides also agreed on instituting changes to Israel’s electoral system. The dramatic announcement, which has yet to receive official confirmation, came as the Knesset was conducting early-morning discussions ahead of an expected vote to disperse in advance of early elections. Earlier in the evening, 119 MKs voted to approve in its first reading a bill to disperse the body, with only one lawmaker opposed.”

That is a LOT of agreements, and for them to come to so suddenly tells me that bigger things are afoot. If they agreed to all that, discussions had obviously been ongoing, and second, the number of the agreements and concessions tell me that they have bigger fish to fry. Perhaps Iranian fish?

Gil Hoffman is the political analyst for the Jerusalem Post. On twitter, he just wrote: “Lead headline of Tuesday’s Yediot: UNITY GOVERNMENT in big letters, with subhead of ‘night of drama’. Not in #Jpost- has MUCH earlier deadline.”

It IS a dramatic move and a night of drama for the Israeli people and the world.

The article continues, “Meretz head Zahava Gal-On expressed outrage over the surprise move, calling it a “mega-stinking maneuver by a prime minister who wants to avoid elections and a desperate opposition chairman facing a crash.””

Or it could indicate a wily and intelligent politician aiming to craft a government that will stand behind him in the tough times to come, perhaps even including first strikes…Stay tuned!!! Things are shifting by the moment in Israel!

Saudi Arabia and Iran, rivals till the end?

Let’s take a look at the rivalry between the Saudis and the Iranians for pre-eminence in the Middle Eastern region. We can start by looking at this recent article:

Saudi cleric: ‘Sin’ has led to Middle East unrest

Well, that’s true but not in the way the Muslim cleric thinks… Here’s the excerpt-

“Saudi Arabia’s top religious official has blamed Muslim sinfulness for instability in the Middle East, where pro-democracy unrest has toppled four heads of state. “The schism, instability, the malfunctioning of security and the breakdown of unity that Islamic countries are facing these days is a result of the sins of the public and their transgressions,” Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz Al al-Sheikh was quoted as saying by al-Watan newspaper.’

We tend to think of all Muslims as Muslim, the same, and working in concert to accomplish the global dominance of their goals. They do want to conquer the world for Islam but they are definitely not working in concert with one another. Just as there is not one “Christian” mindset, instead we are split by denominational lines, the false mixed in with the true (Catholicism, B’Hai), it is the same with Islam. The faith they practice is tempered by doctrinal interpretations, national or tribal history, and geography.

Here is an example. Iran is a powerful entity in the Middle East and seeks to be more so every day. However, adjacent nations which are also Muslim are not friendly toward Iran. Both Iran and Saudi Arabia are the two powerhouses vying for dominance, and the smaller ducklings are lined up behind each. The two Middle Eastern powers have been battling for preeminence in the Muslim world for decades. The LA Times wrote in Oct 2011, “Saudi Arabia and Iran seek to outmaneuver each other in matters such as the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the future of Iraq and the bloody political uprisings sweeping much of the region. Their mistrust, fueled in part by sectarian strain, is sharpened by Iran’s nuclear development program and Saudi Arabia’s long-standing ties to the U.S., Tehran’s most potent enemy. The animosity between the Sunni Muslim monarchy in Riyadh and the Shiite Muslim theocracy in Tehran has played out for years in diplomatic back channels and in proxy conflicts from Iraq to Lebanon.”

CNN wrote a few months ago, “The two countries, at odds since the 1979 revolution in Iran and ever more so in the wake of the Arab Spring, are competing for dominance in global energy markets and nuclear technology and for political influence in the Persian Gulf and the Levant. Their conflict, with its sectarian overtones, has the potential to weaken pro-democracy forces in the Middle East and North Africa, empower Islamists, and drag the United States into military interventions. To avoid all this, the United States will need strategic imagination to devise ways to mitigate and manage the rivalry between Riyadh and Tehran.”

The prediction that the rivalry will “empower Islamists” is turning out to be true. Witness the Muslim Brotherhood’s success in Egypt. While Iran and Saudi Arabia rival each other, the Brotherhood sneaks in under the radar, cements seats in Parliament, and before they know it, have the people backing them and political power to wield.

It is out of this mess that Jesus causes the final lineup to occur, and it seems that Iran comes out on top, given their prominent placement as a leader in the aggression toward Israel in the Ezekiel 38 prophecy. The old Arabic proverb goes, “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.” Just keep that in mind as we read news articles about these nations today and in the future. As a matter of fact, here is one Op-Ed piece in the Kuwaiti Al Watan Daily newspaper today that captures the mood:

“In worst case scenarios; especially during those times when we are really left with little or absolutely no options at all – and have to choose between showing solidarity with the Iranians (God Almighty forbid) or surrendering our earthly possessions, I am certain that we would much rather prefer to live in our deserts as shepherds – wandering around barefoot and working real hard for our livelihoods – than live under the imposing and tyrannical shade of the Iranian umbrella. We’d rather prefer going to bed on a half-empty stomach than enjoy the ill-gotten gains of the Iranians that once actually belonged and still belong to us. We’d rather sleep on the bare earth with no pillow under our heads or even a thin sheet covering our cold bodies than sleep under their silken sheets and warm comforters. Most importantly; we’d rather prefer to die in dignity than live under the shade of their deceptive umbrella.”

Gee, what do you really think of the Iranians, Mufarej Barjas Al-Dosari? Actually, the writer and the colleague Abdullah Al-Hadlaq that he mentions are known as Muslim Zionists, that is, Muslim supporters of Israel.

Al-Dosari and the colleague he mentions have urged his country to normalize relations with Israel. On Wikipedia, it states, ‘Responding to a question whether he believed that Muslims have a right to rule Jerusalem, Hadlaq said, “On the contrary, verse number 21 of Surat Al-Maeda of the Holy Quran emphasizes the right of ‘Bani Israel'”. He said that Israel’s model of democracy is unique and surpassed many of what he described as the “tyrannical, totalitarian” Arab regimes. In his 2008 article, “The Right of Self-defense,” Al-Hadlaq supported “Israel’s right to defend itself” and told the international community “not to criticize Israel if it continues its fight against Persian terror committed by the terrorist Hamas (…) and not to criticize Israel for using force to defend its citizens and its territory”. In 2011, Hadlaq warned against a unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state, which he says will shatter the idea of real peace in the region. According to Al-Hadlaq, Israel has in the past made strategic concessions for peace, in Sinai, the Gaza Strip and South Lebanon, proving her desire for peaceful negotiations, but the response she earned was a hail of rockets from the “terrorists of Hizballah and Hamas”. ‘ [emphasis mine].

See? The enemy of my enemy is my friend. The group hates Iran so badly they support Israel. I think it is interesting that the Kuwaiti newspaper continues to allow them to publish their Op-Ed pieces.

He writes, “On the contrary, we will never ever be deceived even in the event that Iran changes its tactics and tries to win us over through soothing words of comfort and never ending support. We will never fall prey to their false claims of solidarity under the pretext of being Muslims and true followers of Islam. If they were indeed true followers of Islam, they would never have trampled on the rights of their own brethren and fellowmen. It is open knowledge that they do not believe in brotherhood despite their futile claims that they are indeed devout Muslims and hence encourage the welfare of all other Muslims.”

As for the Grand Mufti…Saudi Arabia’s top cleric? This is the same man who criticized those who want to raise the legal marriageable age, He said that raising the age of marriage for Muslim girls to 25 is not necessary, because girls aged 10 or 12 are fully ready for all marital duties if raised properly and those who want to raise it are absolutely mistaken. (source Turkish newspaper). He is the same man who said just last week that a fatwa should be issued against all Christian churches in the Gulf region, that they should all be destroyed. And… he is one of the most influential religious leaders in the Muslim world.

Now here is something interesting. It is extra-biblical but based on the bible. I know nothing about the Yalkut Shimoni, only having discovered it just now. Here is an article from Arutz Sheva from 5 months ago. This is their headline, not mine:

Iran and Saudis Acting Out Ancient Messiah Prophecy?

“Jews familiar with an ancient compilation of Aggadic exegesis called Yalkut Shimoni noticed in recent weeks that current tension between Iran and Saudi Arabia matches a prophecy it contains regarding the year in which the Messiah – the King who redeems Israel and the world – is to appear. In particular, the recently revealed Iranian plot to assassinate Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the U.S. and subsequent reports that the Arab nations are pressuring the West to attack Iran, appear to fit the sequence of events predicted in the Yalkut Shimoni. In to the part of the book dealing with the Book of Isaiah, the following passage appears:

“Rabbi Yitzchak said: ‘In the year in which the Messiah-King appears, all the nations of the world are provoking each other. The King of Persia provokes an Arab king and the Arab king turns to Aram for advice. And the King of Persia goes back and destroys the entire world. And all the nations of the world are in panic and distress and they fall upon their faces and are seized with pains like those of a woman giving birth, and Israel are in panic and distress and asking ‘where shall we go? Where shall we go?,’ and He says to them ‘my sons, do not fear; all that I have done, I have done only for you. Why are you afraid? Do not fear, your time of redemption has come, and the final redemption is not like the first redemption, because the first redemption was followed by sorrow and servitude under other kingdoms, but the final redemption is not followed by sorrow and servitude under other kingdoms.”

The article continues- “Persia is currently known as Iran, and an Arab king – or the Arab king – can be reasonably understood, in modern eyes, as referring to the king of [Saudi] Arabia, the Arab homeland. This passage is relatively well-known and oft-quoted, and some modern versions of it substitute “Edom” for “Aram.”… The instability in precisely this area is reportedly what most concerns the Saudis, as a U.S. pullout from Iraq looms and Syria’s pro-Iranian regime teeters. The prophecy bodes ill for much of the world, which, if Rabbi Yitzchak’s quote is to be taken literally, is to be destroyed by Iran before the Messiah steps in.”

In biblical prophecy, it is generally interpreted that in Ezekiel 38:13 the Sheba and Dedan that are mentioned are the Saudi Arabian peninsula peoples, including Kuwait, and their question to the aggressors Iran and Russia “have you come to take a spoil?” indicate that Sheba and Dedan do NOT participate in the Gog-Magog attack, perhaps even then, still rivals in a warring and dying world.

The burden of knowing these insults against the Graceful and Merciful Jesus and His people exist, and are getting more outrageous is getting heavier by the day. But what a promise of deliverance we have! When He comes, He will destroy the enemies of the cross, and institute a theocracy that is perfect in all its facets! We will be fully released from the bondage of our sin nature, and will worship Him in united love for Him the perfect Lamb. What a joy it will be to see children safe and the world restored to Edenic glory- and Jesus occupying His rightful pace at the Head, on the throne, and visible to all!

Rare tornado in Tokyo kills one

Fox News reports,
“A tornado tore through an area just northeast of the Japanese capital Sunday, injuring at least 30 people, destroying dozens of homes and leaving thousands more without electricity. Firefighters and helicopter medical teams rushed to the area after the tornado struck the city of Tsukuba, 40 miles northeast of Tokyo. A 14-year-old boy was in serious condition, and 10 others were being treated at hospitals, the local fire department said. Details of their injuries were not immediately available. NHK footage showed rows of houses that had lost roofs, apartment complexes with smashed balconies and shattered windows, and crooked telephone poles that could barely stand. NHK also showed footage of a swirling gray cloud it said was taken by a passer-by. The number of homes damaged was still unknown, it said. Initially, the fire department had said 30 to 50 homes were destroyed. NHK TV reported that some 200 homes were damaged. Tokyo Electric Power Co. said 24,000 homes were without electricity as strong winds and lightning added to the tornado damage. Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant, which went into multiple meltdowns from last year’s tsunami, was not affected by Sunday’s tornado or storm, TEPCO said. Tornadoes are relatively rare in the Tokyo area.”

In Revelation, Jesus showed John visions of the future. John saw the weather act in ways that defied description. Angels held back the wind so no breeze blew. Hail fell that weighed 100 pounds each. There were droughts and famines and waters turning to blood and mega earthquakes.

In Matthew 24, the disciples asked “when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” (Mt 24:3). Jesus answered of the things that would happen and they were the same as the things He showed John.

Between His telling us and His showing us, Jesus has taken great care to alert the generation that will see these things come to pass. The purpose is to show the saved the truth of His word and to assure us that our Redemption draws nigh. For the unsaved, it is to let them know God is in control and that He is coming to judge sinners and to punish Israel. In effect, he is speaking to the entire world, because there is only saved, and unsaved.

The normal is becoming extinct as surely as the dodo bird and the passenger pigeon. The new normal is uncertainty, perplexity, and un-safety. Why is no place safe? Just because a place has never or rarely experienced an earthquake does not mean that they won’t. Just because a place hardly or never has tornadoes doesn’t mean they can’t. Just because a volcano in your backyard never exploded doesn’t mean it wouldn’t. Eventually, all these things will affect all people, everywhere.

“And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”” (Revelation 6:15-17).

You are able to stand because of your position before Christ. If you have repented and accepted Him as savior and Lord, you are justified. He, the Judge, has rendered the verdict, and that verdict is PARDON for your crimes (sins). If you have not repented, you are not justified and the Judge will render the verdict GUILTY. What happens to the guilty? They go to jail. In this case it is hell.

“For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead.”” (Acts 17:31). This verse is speaking of God appointing Jesus as Judge of all mankind.

There will not be a jury of your peers, there will not be a defense lawyer. There will only be you, and the Judge. Can you withstand the wrath of the Lamb? No. But you can escape it by repenting, announcing your guilt and the Judge who is merciful, will pardon you. You must do it before He arrives in the courtroom, though, (before your death) because after that, all is fixed. It will be too late.

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” (Hebrews 9:27).

And because you don’t know the date of your death, you don’t know when the arresting officers will come get you (the death angel), so announce your guilt now and ask the Judge for mercy. And you don’t even have to wonder of the Judge will grant it, because He has already said that He will!

“That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:15-18)

Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan riots over Israel-friendly Minister appointment

I’ve been mentioning repeatedly that Israel holds only two treaties with Arab nations, Egypt and Jordan. Lately I’ve been mentioning on the one between Israel and Egypt because it is slowly but surely being shredded in actions and in fact. The rise of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt bodes ill for the Egypt-Israel peace treaty.

The other treaty between Israel and an Arab nation is with Jordan. Though the King of that nation has indicated he is not a fan of the nearly 20 year old treaty no huge news has come out lately about severing ties with Israel or abandoning the treaty. However, because the bible says that every nation eventually comes against Israel in the last days, I’ve mentioned that the Jordanian treaty will at some point come to an end.

It seems that a flame has been ignited whose fuse leads to the prophesied cataclysm in the Middle East which includes abandoning ties with Israel. The fuse aflame was ignited this week came as a direct response to Jordan’s King Abdullah‘s recent nomination of Prime Minister Fayez Tarawneh, who served as a key figure in the 1994 Jordan-Israel peace process. Various political and social groups have expressed outrage over comments recently made by Tarawneh indicating that, if given a second chance, he would still support the controversial peace treaty. This caused massive protests in Jordan–

Jordanians Protest, Call to End Peace with Israel
“Thousands of Jordanians took to the streets on Friday demanding an end to the country‘s 18-year-old peace treaty with Israel. According to a report by the dpa news agency, in a series of nationwide protests, demonstrators urged Amman to cut ties with the Jewish State. The protesters burned Israeli flags and chanted “death, death to Israel”, the report said.’

Elsewhere in Jordan, at Amman, the Jordan Times reports-
Muslim Brotherhood conservatives extend dominance as group rounds out leadership posts
“The Muslim Brotherhood selected its executive committee late Thursday, as the group’s conservative wing extended its dominance over the movement’s leadership posts. In a shura council session late Thursday, Islamists voted to approve of a conservative-dominated executive committee, the movement’s highest decision-making body, according to the group.”

“The Muslim Brotherhood unveiled late Thursday an eight-member committee hand-picked by recently re-elected hardliner Overall Leader Hamam Saeed: Zaki Bani Rsheid, Saud Abu Mahfouth, Mohammed Shihadeh, Nawaf Obeidat, Mohammed Aqel, Ahmed Zarqan, Ziyad Khawaldeh and Saadeh Saadat. According to a movement insider, Saeed was forced to fill the posts from the conservative wing after several moderates withdrew their candidacy in protest over what they deemed as a breach of internal regulations.”

“After the shurah council moved to go ahead with the selection of the executive committee despite demands to postpone them, several moderates pulled out of consideration for the posts,” said the source. … The Islamist movement is slated to elect its final vacant leadership post, shurah council president, mid-next week. Observers and insiders say the Kingdom’s largest opposition movement’s conservative shift comes as a direct response to the appointment of Royal Court veteran, Fayez Tarawneh, as prime minister and the abrupt end of a dialogue spearheaded by former premier Awn Khasawneh.”

So what this means is that the catalyst for the coalescing of the Muslim Brotherhood’s hard line, conservative push was the appointment of the King of the Israel-friendly Prime Minister. When that happened, the hard-liners’ immediate and demonstrable response was to vote in a conservative executive committee and the moderates were either shut out or intimidated out. Moderation concerning Israel caused a hard line push-back and overt hatred.

Prophecy is all about movement. It is always moving toward fulfillment. For example, the lineage of Jesus was ordained from the beginning. Each generation of unions resulting in a child was a movement toward Mary’s birth of the Messiah. Sometimes prophecy seems to be fulfilled suddenly, sometimes extremely so by those who have not been following it.

Other times it was impossible to follow, as in the generations that preceded Jesus. Who knew that 1300 or so years prior to the birth of the Messiah that Rahab’s faith would save her and that she would subsequently be included in the line that would produce the Savior? Who could know that the perfect line of generations that came before Him would result in the One who would fulfill all? So sometimes it seems to come out of the blue. But God’s hand is always moving, His Divine Providence is always working in the world.

Divine providence is the means by and through which God governs all things in the universe. The doctrine of divine providence asserts that God is in complete control of all things. This includes the universe as a whole (Psalm 103:19), the physical world (Matthew 5:45), the affairs of nations (Psalm 66:7), human birth and destiny (Galatians 1:15), human successes and failures (Luke 1:52), and the protection of His people (Psalm 4:8).” (source).

So everything that happens, He is aware of, causes, or allows. And that means everything that happens is on a path toward fulfilled promises, including prophecy. What I, and many others, notice is that the movement is speeding up. And What it is speeding up toward? Remember, the last days of the Tribulation is the end this age. It is the culmination of all of God’s works regarding sin, with the exception of the short rebellion at the end of the 1000 year Millennium Kingdom. Prophecy was running quickly in 2006, it sped up in 2008, and since then each year’s movement toward the final events is like a daily compounded interest. It hasn’t been many months that I’ve been remarking that the Jordan issue would soon come to the fore.

In January of this year I wrote “Looking at Psalm 83’s nearness, remember Obadiah’s prophecy of Jordan destroyed” on the blog. A few months before that I write about Obadiah’s prophecies about Jordan in general, here.

If you are interested in prophecy, good for you. Prophecy is pre-written history. It is a demonstration of the bible’s inspiration by the Holy Spirit and its accuracy as being a book delivered to us outside of time by our sovereign and omnipotent God. He proves Himself over and over by its accuracy and fulfillment. Israel’s re-emergence in 1948, an prophetic fulfillment that occurred in some of our lifetimes, is an example.

The fulfillment of prophecy and its constant movement toward fulfillment is the very word of God, validated. God and God alone accomplishes prophecy:

“Who confirms the word of His servant, And performs the counsel of His messengers; Who says to Jerusalem, ‘You shall be inhabited,’ To the cities of Judah, ‘You shall be built,’ And I will raise up her waste places;” (Isaiah 44:26).

Ultimately, we study prophecy because Christ is THE great subject of it, since the beginning. We love prophecy because we trust His word, we love God’s timeless sovereignty, and we want to seek the face of Christ, the great subject of all time.”

“For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.” (Acts 3:22-24).

Russia threatens pre-emptive strike, yet we plan wargames with them on our soil

I’m not catching the military or diplomatic benefit here… On the one hand, we are engaged in joint games with Russia, on our soil.

Russian paratroopers to ‘seize’ US facility on our soil in elaborate war games
“According to reports, the U.S. and Russian military will be engaging in an anti-terrorism exercise that will involve Russian paratroopers using U.S. weapons to “take and hold” the main facilities of the CIA and Denver International Airport in Colorado and the National Security Agency in Utah. … Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Colonel Alexander Kucherenko publically announced this 24-21 May “anti-terror drill” this Friday past noting that this will be the first time Russian airborne forces have held exercises with the US airborne forces on US territory. Colonel Kucherenko stated, “According to the exercise scenario, soldiers of the two countries will hold a tactical airborne operation, including the reconnaissance of imaginary terrorists’ camp and a raid. After the operation, a helicopter will evacuate the soldiers.” He further added that Russian airborne troops would be training with US special service weapons in these drills in Fort Carson, Colorado.”

On the other hand, Russian top officials said they will bomb our NATO troops if plans for a missile defense shield move forward in Eastern Europe…

Russia says it could pre-emptively strike missile shield
“Russia’s top military officer has threatened to carry out a pre-emptive strike on U.S.-led NATO missile defense facilities in Eastern Europe if Washington goes ahead with its controversial plan to build a missile shield.”

Well, isn’t that special. Let’s take a look at Russia in recent political history and then in biblical prophecy.

Remember, Russia was the Mother Bear anchor for the old Soviet Union of Socialist Republics, or USSR. “The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics” (also known as the USSR or Soviet Union for short) consisted of Russia and surrounding countries that today make up Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. The USSR was founded in 1922, five years after the Russian Revolution overthrew the monarchy of the czar, and was dissolved in late 1991.” (source)

The book Petrostate: Putin, Power, and the New Russia summarizes the recent history of that ancient state this way-
“In the aftermath of the financial collapse of August 1998, it looked as if Russia’s day as a superpower had come and gone. That it should recover and reassert itself after less than a decade is nothing short of an economic and political miracle. Based on extensive research, including several interviews with Vladimir Putin, this revealing book chronicles Russia’s dramatic reemergence on the world stage, illuminating the key reason for its rebirth: the use of its ever-expanding energy wealth to reassert its traditional great power ambitions. … The book provides an informative overview of oil in Russia, traces Vladimir Putin’s determined effort to reign in the upstart oil oligarchs who had risen to power in the post-Soviet era … Goldman shows how Russia paid off its international debt and has gone on to accumulate the world’s third largest holdings of foreign currency reserves–all by becoming the world’s largest producer of petroleum and the world’s second largest exporter.”

It IS an economic and political miracle, one that Christians see has God’s fingerprints all over it. Nations rise and fall, they don’t usually rise again, and if they do, like the Roman Empire, there’s a 2000 year gap between iterations. The Olmec civilization fell. Babylon fell. The United Kingdom Empire fell. The Tang dynasty fell. The Anasazi civilization fell and then vanished. So a decade between Russia’s rise to fall to rise again is amazing. Downright miraculous.

Prophetically, Russia plays a major part in upcoming history. Ezekiel 38-39 describes Russia as a strong aggressor with a focus on taking a spoil and plunder. It  is one of the main confederates in a dreadful alliance that attacks Israel in the last days. Ezekiel 38 opens with God talking to Gog through Prophet Ezekiel. Gog will get an evil thought to come against Israel like a cloud, her and all her confederates, to take plunder and spoil. They will attack the peaceful and unsuspecting people who dwell in safety in unwalled villages. God allows the attack so that He can show Himself Holy to the world and He protects Israel in so doing.

Look at the geography here. I couldn’t even include all of Russia because it is so big the nation labels become unreadable. And Russia’s allies the “-stans” are both east of the Caspian sea and west of it. And in between there and Israel are the Arab states. All these territories and nations attack Israel in the last 7 years. Israel is so tiny on the map you can’t even see it. God is so amazing to protect her, making her an immovable rock!

“And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth are gathered together against it.” (Zechariah 12:3)

Russia it is believed, is the nation mentioned as the one “from the far north”, who will “…come from your place out of the far north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great company and a mighty army. You will come up against My people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land.” (Ezekiel 38:15-16).

It has been speculated that the spoil Russia comes to take is oil. And indeed, Israel has discovered great riches and reserves of natural gas and oil that is easily accessible and quickly converted to usable fuel. One thing that has been historically consistent with Russia is her ambitions. They have always been large, and in this era her ambitions rest on gas and oil. It is one reason the nation is so protective of itself and sees the installation of NATO missiles in Eastern Europe, especially Kaliningrad, which is Russia’s close neighborhood as something they do not want to happen.

Yet we are going to do wargames with Russia. It sure is a crazy world, with shifting alliances and sudden moves, threats, wars and rumors of wars. We don’t know what will happen tomorrow, but we know what will happen soon, the bible tells of the Isaiah 17 prophecy where Damascus and larger Syria are destroyed, where Israel’s near neighbors are decimated, (Psalm 83), where Ezekiel prophesies the destruction of the alliance of Russia, Iran, Turkey/Armenia, Libya, Sudan etc. by God Himself. We know the last book in the bible, Revelation, speaks of battles of the Kings of the South and of the East marching against Israel. All this and much more is prophesied. And being promises of God, they will not fail.

“Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.” (1 Kings 8:56)

And Russia will be right in the center of these, some of His last promises. God is great, His plans never fail. I am amazed how He uses nations and events to bring to pass His will. After a startling fall and seeming defeat on the world stage, Russia is back, the bear is awakening from her short slumber and beginning to growl her intentions across the pages of prophecy.

“And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.” (Psalms 89:5)

Some animal stories in the news

Here are some animal stories that are in the news. I don’t know the prophetic indication, nor even the thread that connects them other than they are weird animal stories, and they interested me. They made me think of the following:

I’ve written about the dolphin die-of in Peru before. Now Peru has another die-off.

Peru explores pelican deaths
“Authorities in Peru are investigating the death of over 538 pelicans, along with other birds, on the northern coast of the country, the Peruvian ministry of production said Sunday. The new environmental investigation comes on the heels of an incident earlier in April when 877 dolphins washed up dead on the same stretch of coast. It was not immediately clear if the deaths were connected. The birds appear to have died on the beach, and more tests are needed to determine the cause of death, the ministry of production said.”

Coast Guard official Cesar Villanueva in Lambayeque said Sunday he has never seen so many dying pelicans on the beach in 25 years on the job. What a shame! How hard it is to be part of the generation to witness the death throes of the dying world. But in Him there is life! Soon our eyes will be cast upon Him in sight, our faith made perfect because of His sacrifice. And the world will be made new. (Revelation 21:1). “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” (Hebrews 11:3)

Albino Killer Whale spotted off Russia’s east coast
“A team of Russian scientists have reported what they believe is the first-ever sighting of an all-white, adult killer whale in the wild. The discovery of the six-foot, pure white fin was made by scientists during a research cruise off the eastern coast of Russia, near the Kamchatka Peninsula and the Commander Islands in the North Pacific. “It is a breathtakingly beautiful animal,” Eric Hoyt, one of the scientists, told the AFP.”

It is a wondrous sight to behold. Isn’t God’s creativity amazing?! I’m looking forward to when we share the earth with the animals in love and not as predator and prey. “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.” (Isaiah 11:6)

Soccer Hall of Famer nearly eaten by gator on golf course
“It’s not exactly news that alligators are occasionally spotted roaming golf courses, especially in Florida. It doesn’t make them any less of a potential danger, as 75-year-old Al Miller, an avid golfer, found out recently.Miller isn’t just your typical duffer. He’s a former golf coach and accomplished soccer coach. In fact, he’s in the U.S. National Soccer Hall of Fame. … The trouble began when Miller went to retrieve his ball, which had hooked near the pond. Suddenly, the gator bit him, tossed him in the air and then began to drag him into the water at the 15th hole. “He lifted me up three feet and slammed me down,” Miller told Lakeland newspaper The Ledger. The gator eventually released Miller, but not before inflicting a deep cut in his knee.”

“Price ran over and grabbed Miller under his shoulders while the animal was thrashing and pulling. The other two golfers in the foursome ran over to help.Miller said the animal took one look at him and clamped down harder. “It was excruciating to say the least,” Miller said. As the animal started dragging Miller into the water, Miller prayed for a miracle. He got one. “He let me go,” Miller said. “I was three feet from my life. He had me submerged up to my belt buckle.” (source, more photos).

Oh, where to go with this. It made me think of the plague of beasts, where actual deaths from animals will occur on a regular, daily basis to most of the world’s people. (“And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.” Rev 6:8b). Imagine, going along, la la la, and BLAM, a beast got you and is chomping on you, alive. Shudderrrrr! The news story also made me think of how one never knows when your number is up. God has ordained the number of our days, (Psalm 139:16) and today might be a person’s last. (“Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;” Job 14:5). That is why it is important to know Jesus as Lord and Savior. If death comes, for the Christian it will only be a gateway into riches beyond compare. For the lost, it is a gateway to unutterable agony.

I’m glad the golfer is OK and that he prayed a prayer (I hope he knows the REAL Jesus). But for many others today and every day, unfortunately, they put off making a decision about their eternal destiny and it will be forever too late. Don’t let that be you.

The new Wall-E chair

The Beijing Motor Show had some show stoppers this year, including a personal vehicle that looks exactly like the personal vehicles in the 2008 cartoon movie Wall-E. “Toyota’s i-Real electric vehicle was one of the more surreal cars on show at the Beijing Motor Show this year” we read in the UK Daily Mail.

If you ever saw the movie Wall-E, which is a computer-animated post-apocalyptic romantic science fiction film, or so says the description, the plot involves a robot named WALL-E, who is designed to clean up a waste-covered Earth far in the future. He winds up in outer space on a spaceship where all the humans have gone, and by this time in the far future the humans have all gotten obese and can barely function without being in their movable sofas. The ones that look just like the ones unveiled in the Beijing Motor Show.

Unveiled personal vehicle at Beijing Show:

Wall-E sofas:

Of course, the connection was instantly made by many, who saw the similarities even between the two vehicles. LOL all that’s left would be for us to have an IV drip injected directly into our arms and a catheter on the other end and we would never have to leave our sofas.

But I want to make a comparison between the American Christian and the personal sofa vehicle for a moment. I said American Christian because that is the Christian I am familiar with. I think it is safe bet also for the generalization I’m about to make.

So often, American Christians enter their mega churches ready to be passively entertained. They have padded pews, a drink stand, technology to enhance the experience, a perfect climate controlled environment, worship songs that are hip instead of hymns that convict…

Comforts are good. I’m not against comforts. But let’s not get distracted by them. I wish for all of us that we would not stay on our padded pews, living individual lives absorbed in technology, but get out of the pews and into the world to bear fruit for His name. Here is what one blogger wrote:

“There are churches in our city that have no problem raising a million dollars for a new building (complete with paved parking lots, air conditioning and broadloom) but can’t seem to spare a fig for the dying and the damned on our downtown streets. The exact phrase my friend used to describe these churches was ‘Christian country clubs.’ “

I hope that you are blessed to be in a working man’s Christian church, sweaty, gnarled, externally unremarkable but with shining pure heart, with Jesus at the head.

“For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:17)

The just shall not live by lattes.

“But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.” (Galatians 3:11)

The just shall not live by comforts.

“Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.” (Hebrews 10:38)

The just shall not live by technology. Step off the padded personal chair and mix it up with the faithful walk, and let the glory that is Jesus shine through.
