Secret summit of top bankers

“THE world’s top central bankers began arriving in Australia yesterday as renewed fears about the strength of the global economic recovery gripped world share markets. Representatives from 24 central banks and monetary authorities including the US Federal Reserve and European Central Bank landed in Sydney to meet tomorrow at a secret location, the Herald Sun reports.” [photo is of a past meeting]

“Organised by the Bank for International Settlements last year, the two-day talks are shrouded in secrecy with high-level security believed to have been invoked by law enforcement agencies. Speculation that the chairman of the US Federal Reserve, Dr Ben Bernanke, would make an appearance could not be confirmed last night. The event will be dominated by Asian delegations and is expected to include governors of the Peoples Bank of China, the Bank of Japan and the Reserve Bank of India.”

The world’s top bankers began arriving in Australia as fears of the failure of the global economic recovery set in. Reps from 24 central banks landed in Sydney to meet secretly tomorrow. Will what they propose, work? Will their banking overhaul save the day? No. Not until the Antichrist proposes a 1-world economy and 1-world currency, that is.

It hardly seems like any time at all has passed since October of 2008 when the world’s economy crashed. This past year has been one of fruitless efforts on the part of man to rectify the horrible decline in currency values, economies, standards of living, and reputation for many of the Western nations caught in the downward spiral.

Just as interesting, this past year has been a good one for the Indonesian, Chinese, and Indian economies, who have seen their currency values, economies, standards of living, and reputation rise in proportion to the US, UK, France, and other nations have fallen.

Though bankers are worried, and they meet, and they tinker with economic strategies, the economy will crash. There will be such acceptance of a one world economy and a one world currency by the time the antichrist proposes it that it will be created in a flash. There will always be an economy, we know this from verses in Revelation that state that people will be buying bread (it’ll cost a day’s wages though – Rev 6:6). And there will be merchants selling luxuries, because when the Babylon is destroyed the merchants lament. (Rev 18:11-13). “And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men.”

But along with the few who are able to buy and sell the world’s richest luxuries, there will also be famine and war and death and disasters. However, there will always be an economy. The difference is, this economy, if you noticed in the list of items bought and sold, include bodies and souls of men.

The fact is that these bankers will continue to do everything wrong because their focus is entirely in the thing that will lose them their soul. Their focus is on the money itself. They will tinker and meet and study charts and lie and hold press conferences, but they fail to do the one and only thing that would help: appeal to God. Engaging in prayer and supplication for their venal ways, setting aside the idol of Mammon. All the gold and silver is God’s, He said so. “‘The silver is Mine and the gold is Mine,’ declares the LORD of hosts.” (Haggai 2:8) But instead they sell their souls and try to prop up an economy of luxuries that soon, no one will either be able to afford, or even want in their possession.

‘They will fling their silver into the streets and their gold will become an abhorrent thing; their silver and their gold will not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD. They cannot satisfy their appetite nor can they fill their stomachs, for their iniquity has become an occasion of stumbling.’ (Ezekiel 7:19)

The article says “The gathering also comes at an important time for the BIS as it initiates an overhaul of the global banking system…” and overhaul it will undergo. But the price is men’s souls. Christian, pray! Do not store up treasures on earth where moths and rust destroy, but in heaven, where it will last forever (Mt 6:19). Are you seeing the despicableness of the monetary system and an economy founded on personal gain without thought of God? Though money can be good if used for Godly purposes, the more bankers cling to it, the harder they will throw it into the street when the time comes. And the time is shortly arriving….

Hall of mirrors, or lifted veil; your choice

In reading these passages from 2 Corinthians 3:7-18 today I was struck by two images the verses evoked. The first is the veil. The second is the phrase ‘where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” I’ll explain, but first please read the verses:

“But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory. …”

“Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech— unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away. But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

There is much spiritual meat here. Praise His name! But the focus today is the veil and mirror. We are in the end times. We know that at the time of the very end there will be a one world dictator in control of the currency, economy, religion, and politics of the entire globe. This is the antichrist. The time prior to the antichrist is characterized by shrinking; shrinking economy, shrinking currency, shrinking spheres of influence for formerly powerful nations, shrinking amount of people who wield power; all aimed toward the moment when the shrinking will have been reduced to only one power-wielder.

Lately there has been intense interest in two of the shadowy organizations that people give credit to wielding incredible power and who use it to manipulate the currency and the economy: the Illuminati and the Freemasons. ‘Illuminati’ is a term defined in Wikipedia as “a purported conspiratorial organization which acts as a shadowy “power behind the throne,” allegedly controlling world affairs through present day governments and corporations, usually as a modern incarnation or continuation of the Bavarian Illuminati. In this context, Illuminati is often used in reference to a New World Order (NWO). Many conspiracy theorists believe the Illuminati are the masterminds behind events that will lead to the establishment of such a New World Order. Conspiracy theorists have long associated Freemasonry with the New World Order and the Illuminati, and state that Freemasonry as an organization is either bent on world domination or already secretly in control of world politics.”

Now to the ‘conspiracy theorists’ credit, it is a fact that someone had to lobby Woodrow Wilson in passing the Federal Reserve Act, establishing the hated private bank that Thomas Jefferson said would ruin us. And there is a gaggle of men who own that bank, the list of which is secret. It’s true that the members of the Fed wield extraordinary power and manipulate the US economy with impunity. Is there a power behind the Fed who controls the Fed? Some say yes, the Council for Foreign Relations. And is there a power behind that group, manipulating the CFR? Some say yes, The Bilderbergs. Is there a power behind the Bilderbergs, controlling them? Yes, the Illuminati. It goes on and on and on. It is a hall of mirrors. You can search and search and look and look but you will never know the real reflections nor ever see the real thing. They are all shadowy men. And that’s for a reason.

Because, there IS a power behind the throne. The bible speaks of the prince of Persia, (Daniel 10:13) evidently a fallen angel working under the direction of Satan who operates as the “god of this world” (2 Corinthians 4:4). The prince of Persia withstood the messenger angel for twenty-one days before the angel could get away and assist Daniel. In Ezekiel 28:12 – 19 we read of the King of Tyre, which really is the power behind the throne of Tyre (Lebanon) in this case, is actually satan.

There IS power behind the throne and those are the fallen angels who are given permission by God to influence these powerful men, leaders, and elected officials.

Chasing the Illuminati and Freemasons et al is in effect chasing satan. In chasing the Illuminati and the Freemasons and the other shadowy organizations, we get trapped in a hall of mirrors with reflections of the evil fallen angels dancing from mirror to mirror. Pursuing the Illuminati, even in thought, is pointless. We already know that satan influences some of earth’s leaders. Does it matter that we know who these Bilderbergs are and what they plan? We know who the power is behind the throne. We know that there will be a New World Order. We know that prayer is the most effective weapon. We know God wins. Isn’t that enough?

We have a choice on what to watch on television and where to put our energy and resources. We can pursue the shadows in a never-ending pursuit or we can remember we have had the veil lifted from our face and the glory is in Jesus. “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” How wonderful! How great!

‘Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.’ We can spend time and energy with veiled eyes pursuing the endless mirror of the Illuminati/Masons/Bilderbergs, or we can remember the veil is taken away in Christ!

Sudden volcanic eruption in Pakistan startles locals

Here is a roundup of seismic and volcanic activity that is not widely reported. Let’s start with the most unusual event of the day:

A mountain erupted in Pakistan today. A volcano erupting is not notable except…that this is a mountain that has never, ever erupted in its known history. It immediately created fear and panic among the locals.

“Quetta—Volcanic emissions have surfaced at Wham in Ziarat district including burning rocks, ashes and other lava for the first time in the known history causing great anxiety among the people according to reports. Wham area was devastated in the last year’s severe earthquake destroying houses and causing colossal loss to human life. The residents in the vicinity of the area noticed flames of burning rocks on the top of the mountain over the last couple of days spreading alarm and scare among the people. The authorities took little notice of this unusual behaviour in earth crust. Headquarter of the Geological Survey of Pakistan is located in Quetta. The Director General of the department though present in the office did not attend phone calls for his comments on volcanic emissions in the region.”

The earthquake mentioned in the article above that struck in Oct. 2008 was a 6.4 that destroyed many villages, and caused a high number of casualties. The mountain that suddenly began spewing lava last night is 37 miles from that earthquake epicenter and authorities are wondering if the area is becoming even more seismically active than it has been, though no mountain ever suddenly turned into a volcano here before…

Volcano erupts in Ziarat

“QUETTA – A volcano has started spewing lava in Ziarat District of Balochistan, some 75 kilometres away from Quetta. According to reports reaching here, the volcanic activity occurred in Jhari area of Ziarat at Torghar Mountain on Monday night. Residents of nearby area claimed the fire fumes at top of the mountain in the night witnessed for last few days while on Monday night the mountain started spewing lava. Jhari area is located near Waam, which was badly affected in October 29, 2008, when a severe earthquake hit Ziarat.”

In all the articles, though, it is mentioned about the collective fear of remembering the devastating earthquake in Wham (Wam, Waam) in late 20008 and the massive loss of life. That this volcano simply erupted without warning as it had never done before went a long way to bringing to mind the scripture that says men will be “fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” (Luke 21:26) and also this:  “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth  distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; (Luke 21:25). Distress, fear, terror, indeed. I know how I would feel if the mountain I’d known all my life as benign suddenly started shooting molten rocks into the air.

Volcano Tungurahua in Ecuador
“Activity at Tungurahua volcano is increasing. It hasn’t really made it to much of the English-speaking news, but the current eruptive activity at Tungurahua appears to be on the up-tick.The Geophysical Institute of Ecuador suggests that a larger eruption is not out of the question, but right now the activity is confined to explosions and ash fall around the region. The Geophysical Institute is reporting 32 explosions, 30 long-period seismic events and 20 episodes of volcanic tremor in the last 24 hours. Government officials have issued a number of warnings for people living near the volcano and began preparation for evacuations.”

Last Friday, the local authories held a meeting for residents of Fabiola’s village, Puñapi, and surrounding villages. “You really need to leave,” they told them. “The volcano could have a massive eruption any day and this entire area would be destroyed. If you stay, you stay at your own risk.”
 
Tungurahua Is one of the many active volcanoes running down Ecuador’s spine in a row called “Valley of the Volcanoes.” The Ecuadorans are quite used to volcanic activity, they live with the constant rumblings. Villagers walk around with buckets on their heads to catch the volcanic rocks raining down upon them. However, they were taken aback when local authorities made an evacuation order this week. Tungurahua has been slowly erupting since 1999, but since December 21, 2009, it has increased dramatically. “Last Friday, the local authories held a meeting for residents of Fabiola’s village, Puñapi, and surrounding villages. “You really need to leave,” they told them.”

Earthquakes continue to rumble underneath Yellowstone
“It is one of the most intense quake swarms ever recorded in the park’s history and it still shows no sign of slowing down.  In fact, the activity increased during a six-hour period last night. During that time, two quakes, both nearly magnitude 3’s happened within a few minutes of each other.”

“As of February 4, 2010 9:00 AM MST there have been 1,771 located earthquakes in the recent Yellowstone National Park swarm. The swarm began January 17, 2010 around 1:00 PM MST about 10 miles northwest of the Old Faithful area on the northwestern edge of the Yellowstone Caldera. Swarms have occurred in this area several times over the past two decades. This swarm has been longer (in time) and with more earthquakes than last year’s swarm beneath Yellowstone Lake (December ’08/January ’09).” 
Seismologist Dr Klemetti explains here why the earthquakes at Yellowstone getting shallower is no big deal…(?) Ok, if you say so. Technical article. The interesting thing about the Yellowstone situation, of course, is that not only is the ground at Yellowstone seismically active, Yellowstone caldera is really a super-volcano. “A supervolcano or super volcanic eruption is a volcanic eruption with ejecta greater than 240 cubic miles, which is millions of times larger than any volcanic event in historic times.”

How much groaning the land emits! All of creation waits for the day when all things are made new, even the stones!! “I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out”. (Luke 19:40) and Jesus meant it. “For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.” “How long is the land to mourn And the vegetation of the countryside to wither? For the wickedness of those who dwell in it, Animals and birds have been snatched away, Because men have said, “He will not see our latter ending.” (Jer 12:4)

These groans and sorrows are a prophecy of a time of deliverance when there shall be new heavens, and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness (2Pe 3:13). The intense birth pangs continue.

Witches get worship area at AF Academy

I noted here and here that there was a flap when it emerged that a Christian company that had contracted with the US Military to create gun sights for guns going to Iran, had bible verse addresses on them. They always had them there, but when the verses were “discovered” two weeks ago, an outcry was made. The company agreed to refrain from inscribing verse addresses on the gun sights in the future. A great hail and hoorah was made, once again the state was made separate from church.

Today it is reported that “The Air Force Academy has set aside an outdoor worship area for Pagans, Wiccans, Druids and other Earth-centered believers, school officials said Monday. A double circle of stones atop a hill on the campus near Colorado Springs has been designated for the group, which previously met indoors.” Additionally, it is reported that:

The Air Force Academy, stung several years ago by accusations of Christian bias, has built a new outdoor worship area for pagans and other practitioners of Earth-based religions. But its opening, heralded as a sign of a more tolerant religious climate at the academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., was marred by the discovery two weeks ago of a large wooden cross placed there. … In a statement, Gould said, “We absolutely will not stand for this type of destructive behavior. I consider this no different than someone writing graffiti on the Cadet Chapel.” [emphasis mine]

I believe it is obvious that we are in the end time. I also believe that it is obvious that apostasy is on the rise. People are falling away from the faith in great numbers. Not just fence-sitters who are falling down on the faithless side of the fence, but Church itself is falling away too. Dominion Theology, Preterism, and other false doctrines are creeping into the foundational Christian belief systems, just as we were warned. (2 Tim 4:3  “For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.”)

Faithlessness is brought up in several other prophetical verses:

We know that the antichrist will not be revealed until the great falling away occurs. “The day of the Lord has come. Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction” (2 Thess 2:3)

“I tell you, He will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8)

The issue is faith. The fact is there will be no faith, or lots of the wrong faith when Jesus returns. It’s ironic that a Government institution is making effort to build a pagan area for Wiccan worship, when Christians need to get permission from the ACLU to stand on the corner with a cross. For all those who scream that government and religion must be separate, who now support and encourage a Wiccan pagan worship area built by the government, the irony again is high. The brouhaha isn’t even settled with the Cross in the Mojave. In that flap, “High Court to Consider Issue of Church-State Separation” a cross’s placement in the Mojave desert on US Federal land was challenged. “Frank Buono, an assistant  superintendent [of the US Park Service], informed his boss that the presence of the cross violated the Constitution’s establishment clause. Buono is Catholic, but he said he was offended by the religious display on federal land. “The cross is important to me because it is the indispensable symbol of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ,” Buono said in an interview. “But it isn’t right that the symbol of my religion, or any religion, be permanently affixed to federal land.”

But it’s OK for witches to prance around their religious altar on government land, I see.

Fortunately when Jesus returns and restores the earth, HIS earth, not ‘Mother Earth’, He will rule with an iron rod. He will not have to ask permission from anybody to go where He wants and to rule as He sees fit. For He is the LIVING Cross, the Word, and the Saviour of the world. He will be visible to all, and finally, finally, no other idolatrous item, no blasphemous altar, will mar the glorious light that is our Jesus. O, come soon!

Canada’s Bontan announces two more huge Israeli gas fields

I have noted recently of the increasingly tight military ties and exchanges between the alliance prophesied to come against Israel in the last days: Russia, Libya, Iran, Turkey, Armenia, Sudan/Ethiopia and some others. Today I’ll focus on the reason that they do this (aside from God drawing them into the conflict) – it is for a spoil. In the last year Israel has discovered massive oil and gas reserves, and the riches keep on coming:

February 11, 2009:

Huge Israeli Gas Find Even More Massive Than Expected
A massive natural gas find off the coast of Haifa which was lauded as capable of fueling all of Israel for 15 years is actually more than 60 percent larger than originally estimated, according to the American partner in the drill, Noble Energy Inc.

December 24, 2009:

Israeli company finds oil beneath Rosh Ha’ayin
An Israeli oil exploration company on Thursday announced that it had found a huge amount of oil and gas during drilling below the city of Rosh Ha’ayin this week.

February 2, 2010:

Up to $6 trln feet of natural gas found
The Canadian Bontan Oil and Gas Company, which has been exploring for natural gas off the coast of Israel, announced Tuesday that it had found prospective resources of up to 6 trillion cubic feet [TCF]of natural gas in Mira and Sarah Prospects off the country’s coast.

As the Gog-Magog pieces come ever closer together, Israel becomes richer….and more of the prophesied target!

“This is the moment a banker is caught looking at topless pictures on his computer as an analyst behind him speaks live to camera. The man was at his desk at Sydney’s Macquarie Bank during a report on interest rates for Channel 7’s Sunrise show. The banker then turns around and realises he has been caught in the act. He sheepishly returns to the charts he should have been studying.  One of the photographs has been identified as Orlando Bloom’s girlfriend, the model Miranda Kerr.”

A colleague comes over to speak to him, and the banker continues to peep at porn while his colleague speaks. Soon enough the colleague notices the porn is visible on the monitor, and leans down to tell his banker friend. The banker turns around with a sheepish look to see for himself and then he turns back, putting up a banker chart and erasing the porn.

Our society is so fallen that men looking at naked women is not considered pornographic. When, just fifty years ago, bikinis were a scandal, and 100 years ago, the exposed female ankle was porn. But look at the reply:

The reply is ‘please be polite with your porn.’ There’s a proper time and place to view someone’s daughter naked. It’s OK to fill your mind with garbage and defile your marriage at home, just don’t do it at work.

Our society is completely saturated with sexual images. Everywhere we look, from billboards to television to grocery store check out counters, we are bombarded with blatantly sexual pictures. Even selling a cheeseburger these days is accompanied by writhing and licking. Common lingo is now slutburger and MILF. The Internet and cable television have allowed for devastating 24/7 access to pornographic images. And anyone can see that the images have become more brazen, humiliating, and debasing since even the 1970s. As Steve Kroft reported, “One of the biggest cultural changes in the United States over the past 25 years has been the widespread acceptance of sexually explicit material – pornography. In the space of a generation, a product that once was available in the back alleys of big cities has gone corporate, delivered now directly into homes and hotel rooms by some of the biggest companies in the United States.” And by 2003 the porn industry had outpaced the oil industry in profits. Someone is buying all that porn.

Satan wants to debase everything good that God has created. One of God’s foundational creations is marriage. He created sex as an enjoyable activity inside a marriage and as a God-created thing is it good. When it results in a child then the joy multiplies. Marriage was meant to be between a man and a woman, and sex was to be contained within that union only after the union was sanctified in His name and lasting till death do they part. Today, marriage has been debased to the point that it is between any gender and in any number. Sex is something to be enjoyed at any time with anyone, whether married or not.

And now the worst debasement of all, pornography, has pushed the momentum along. Society is crumbling and pornography is the bulldozer crashing into every home. Lust has always been the greatest tool satan has at his disposal. He started right off in the garden. “When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, …” (Gen 3:6). A delight to the eyes…sensuous and tempting.

Christian brother, if you peek at porn at work or in the wee hours at home as a “delight to the eyes”, be aware that you are in agreement with satan and in disagreement with God.

Jesus said: “But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart” (Mt 5:28). The Tenth Commandment shows us:

“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor” (Exodus 20:17). The word translated “covet” is Hebrew chamad, “desire, delight in.”

You might say, ‘I’m not coveting my neighbor’s wife, I’m just looking at anonymous women.’ Well, who is your neighbor? the legal expert asked Jesus in Luke 10. In reply, Jesus told the parable of the Good Samaritan. “It is the one who has mercy on him.” (Luke 10:37) In effect, Jesus was saying, your neighbor is…everyone. To love God means to show mercy to those in need. A girl posing naked for cameras is surely as in need as the biblical man laying bleeding on the road to Jericho. And yet husbands, brothers, fathers, grandfathers take advantage of her and salivate all over their computer screens at work.

Be Godly. Be merciful. Be a Christian. Porn is of satan, and as Christians, we do not agree with satan. We have the victory, because of Jesus blood. Do not sully Jesus’ sacrifice by diluting his blood with pornographic garbage on your computer screens. Paul says in 2Tim 3:2-5 that “There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God…” It is my fervent hope that you love God more than you love godless pleasure. If you are struggling with porn temptations, I pray that you will throw yourself at the cross and ask Jesus to help you overcome this addiction! He WILL! He CAN! He DOES! He is JESUS!

The mud doesn’t get glovey

Haggai 2:10-14 – “Thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘Ask now the priests for a ruling: ‘If a man carries holy meat in the fold of his garment, and touches bread with this fold, or cooked food, wine, oil, or any other food, will it become holy?'” And the priests answered, “No.” Then Haggai said, “If one who is unclean from a corpse touches any of these, will the latter become unclean?” And the priests answered, “It will become unclean.” Then Haggai said, ” ‘So is this people. And so is this nation before Me,’ declares the LORD, ‘and so is every work of their hands; and what they offer there is unclean.”

What does this mean? Matthew Henry explains it well. “Many spoiled this good work, by going about it with unholy hearts and hands, and were likely to gain no advantage by it. The sum of these two rules of the law is, that sin is more easily learned from others than holiness. The impurity of their hearts and lives shall make the work of their hands, and all their offerings, unclean before God. The case is the same with us. When employed in any good work, we should watch over ourselves, lest we render it unclean by our corruptions.” In other words, if you drop a white glove in the mud, the mud doesn’t get glovey.

In this, the end time, we are warned repeatedly to avoid being deceived. Deception is the watchword of the day, along with its brothers, false teaching/prophets, and apostasy. The only sure antidote for being deceived is to stay strong in the basic foundations of our faith: daily prayer, daily bible study, daily worship- seeking His face by remaining receptive to the Holy Spirit.

The Haggai chapters also contain a phrase the LORD uses several times: “Thus says the LORD of hosts, “Consider your ways” (1:7). The word consider is used repeatedly in chapter 2. In the NIV it is “give careful thought.” Considering our ways is always a good thing to do. Falling away always starts subtly, and why not? “For the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made.” (Gen 3:1) He’s not going to grab you and drag you screaming behind the bushes. He’ll start subtly.

Do you have some creeping corruptions that are rendering you unclean? A little mud splatter? A peek at today’s horoscope, perhaps. Hanging with friends who swear, drink, or sleep around. Have you been unable to resist passing along that great piece of gossip? That’s how it starts. And before you know it, your work is unclean. And the more we fail to “give careful thought”, the more we become unclean. The more we fail to ask Jesus to reveal our unholiness to us the more the crafty serpent subtly creeps in. Don’t kid yourself that you are persisting with these friends because it’s a chance to witness. The consecrated meat does not consecrate the cooked food, wine, oil, or any other food. Rather, the uncleanness prevails, every time. If you drop a white glove into the mud…the glove does not make the mud white.

Christian, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.” (II Timothy 3:1) Give careful thought to your ways, and stay clean in these perilous times!

As the Lord lifts His hand from the world, in preparation for the rapture and the Tribulation’s last 7 years, the end times deceptions will increase. 1 John 4:3 – “and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.” We know that satan is the god of this world, that he will deceive the world during the tribulation with lying signs and wonders. “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” (2 Corinthians 11:14-15)

“It is no great thing” to appear as deceiving angels of light. Ponder that as you watch the video…

War drums on the horizon: beating loudly

In Ezekiel’s prophecy in chapter 38, a war breaks out when an alliance of nations make a surprise attack on Israel. Gog is named as the leader of this great army of nations who leads the attack. Gog is described as “of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal” (Ezekiel 38:2-3). Scholars translate this reference as Russia, with a suggestion that Meshech, and Tubal are the capital names for Moscow and Tobolsk, though that translation is not uniformly accepted.

The armies come primarily from the north and involve a few nations of the earth (Ezekiel 38:6, 15; 39:2).These are Russia (Magog/Tubal/Meshech), Libya (Libya) Gomer (Turkey), Beth Togarmah (Armenia), Iran (Persia), Sudan (North Africa-Put), Ethiopia (North Africa-Put)

The verses also go on to say that the surprise comes as Israel has laid down its defenses and is at peace, unsuspecting. When God Himself directly intervenes (38:3-7) from then on ‘they shall know I am their LORD.’ His act restores the covenant with Israel, when the Israelites see His hand in their rescue: “My holy name I will make known in the midst of My people Israel; and I will not let My holy name be profaned anymore And the nations will know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.”

The verses say that Israel buries the dead for seven months and burns the fuel for 7 years (ch 38:9). It stands to reason that this battle takes place immediately prior to the Tribulation or just as the Tribulation begins. This is Jack Kelley’s opinion also: “I believe the Battle of Ezekiel precedes the beginning of Daniel’s 70th week, which precedes all the seal judgments. The 70th week can’t begin until Israel officially recognizes God’s involvement in their affairs, which happens in Ezekiel 39:22 at the end of Ezekiel’s battle.” In any case the battle happens and it is devastating to the attacking armies.

It seemed for years that this battle couldn’t happen, because Turkey was firmly pro-Western, never siding against Israel. Also, the Soviet Union had fallen and broken apart into mini-states. Russia was in decline militarily and economically throughout the 1990s through half of the first decade of the 2000’s. It seemed that Russia was done for and had no political capital to be a mighty anything, never mind a leader of a “mighty army.”

All that has changed in the last year. Turkey is moving ever faster away from Israel and into the waiting arms of its Muslim brothers. Libya’s Gaddfi was a washed-up terrorist laughingstock. Not so any more: he is president of the African Union and highly respected, due to his having forged alliances in and among several of the (prophesied) north African countries such as Ethiopia and Sudan. Russia the Bear is back and charging ahead with its never-ending plans or world domination. The headlines this week caught my eye and seem to confirm the Gog-Magog event’s near fulfillment:

Russia announces military deal with Libya: 1.8bn
Russia is to supply Libya with small-arms and other weapons to the value of $1.8bn (£1.1bn, 1.3bn euros), Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has announced. The contract is worth nearly a quarter of Russia’s entire foreign arms sales last year, put at $7.4bn by the state arms exporter. Mr Putin said the deal had been signed on Friday during a visit by a senior Libya defence official.

Opinion-Analysis: Russia builds up arms export
Despite the world crisis Russia in 2009 exported 7.4 billion dollars worth of arms, 10 percent more than in the previous year. Expert attribute this to the multi-polarity of the modern world. Latin America has shrugged off many of Washington’s controls, and other countries wish to diversify supplies, too. The main hopes of Russia’s defense-industrial complex are pinned on India, which has been arming itself quickly and eagerly, and on markets in the Persian Gulf…

Russia is also wooing Saudi Arabia, a move which Britain-France-US are fighting against. Remember, the ten super-states the world will be broken into as per Revelation and the Beast’s eventual dominance over them. The article is clear and understandable, and from an analytical perspective rarely offered here in the Obama-centric US.]

Russian, Turkish presidents in telephone talk discuss coop issues
Russian and Turkish Presidents Dmitry Medvedev and Abdullah Gul had a telephone talk on Saturday on the Turkish side’s initiative, the Kremlin press service said. The two leaders discussed Russian-Turkish cooperation in international affairs.

Libya Renews Call for United States of Africa,
A pre-summit meeting of African foreign ministers has opened with a Libyan call for prompt action to realize Moammar Gadhafi’s dream of a continental federation. Ministers are preparing for a summit of African leaders beginning Sunday.

China suspends military deals with US
China suspended military exchanges with the United States and threatened sanctions against American defense companies Saturday, just hours after Washington announced $6.4 billion in planned arms sales to [The Kings of the East figure in the Tribulation battles: Rev. 16:12)

China, India, Pakistan, Russia, and North Korea are nuclear powers, and Rev. 9:18, Revelation 8:7and Joel 2:30 and Zechariah 14:12 seem to describe effects of a nuclear war on the earth and on the body.

It is a grim picture, no doubt. There’s Ezekiel’s war of Gog and Magog, with so many dead it takes 7 years to burn the fuel from downed materiel, the Psalm 83 war (which many think will precede the Gog-Magog war), the utter destruction of Damascus (Isaiah 17:1), and the final wars of the Great Tribulation, ending with Armageddon, where nuclear holocaust is loosed upon the earth.

Psalm 83 begins thus:
“See how your enemies are astir,
how your foes rear their heads.
With cunning they conspire against your people;
they plot against those you cherish.
“Come,” they say, “let us destroy them as a nation,
that the name of Israel be remembered no more.”

Sound familiar?
Iran’s Supreme Leader Promises Israel’s Destruction
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has called Israel a “cancerous tumour” that must be wiped from the map, but the new comments mark the first time in years he has openly speculated about Israel’s demise. “Definitely, the day will come when nations of the region will witness the destruction of the Zionist regime,” Khamenei was quoted as saying. “How soon or late (Israel’s demise) will happen depends on how Islamic countries and Muslim nations approach the issue.”

Jews flee Malmo as anti-Semitism grows
Threats and harassment are becoming increasingly commonplace for Jewish residents in Malmö in southern Sweden, leading many Jews to leave the city out of fear for their safety. Last year there were 79 crimes against Jewish residents reported to the police in Malmö, roughly double the number reported in 2008, according to the Skånska Dagbladet newspaper.

Strange things in the sky

The sky and cosmos have been displaying a wonderful array of weird stuff lately. Some of the sky phenomena are unexplained and some are explained but rare or are occurring in places they don’t normally. And some of these phenomena are just a supernatural mystery. First, the explainable but strange:

Light Pillars:
“Light pillars scrape the night sky over Victor, Idaho, on January 26 (2009). Typically seen in polar regions, the vertical columns of light have been appearing along with frigid temperatures at lower latitudes this winter. Light pillars appear when artificial light (shown in diagram above) or natural light bounces off the facets of flat ice crystals wafting relatively close to the ground.” Note the phenomenon occurs over furthest northern latitudes but lately they are seen as far south as Idaho.

This next set did occur in Canada near Toronto but the pillars did not act as they usually do: “Did you see something strange Friday night? (January 13, 2010). A British Columbia UFO chronicler and paranormal expert is reporting eyewitness accounts of strange vertical lights in the sky over Dundas and Waterdown. The witness thought they could be “light pillars,” a visual atmospheric phenomenon created by the reflection of light from ice crystals from a light source such as the sun or moon, but they are not usually seen from several viewpoints.”

Hole Punch Clouds
These kind of clouds are known to meteorologists but are rare. Or, they used to be rare. Now they are being seen more frequently.

1/16/10: Strange clouds in the sky over the Palm Beaches
WEST PALM BEACH, FL–There were some strange clouds spotted over south Florida on Thursday. They looked like a line or circle just dropped out of the sky. A steady flow of viewer pictures have come into WPTV.com.

Weird clouds:
A spate of strangely shaped clouds have been appearing worldwide. Meteorologists say they do not know what they are but insist they are a natural phenomenon. I don’t understand how they know they are natural if they do not even know what they are, but that’s just me. This one was spotted in Indonesia, and is part of an article noting the strange sky phenomenon lately.

UFO clouds spark possibility of alien life
“Incredible pictures of ‘UFO clouds’ have reignited space-lovers hopes that there is extra-terrestrial life after they hit the internet showing eerie illuminated discs in the sky which look like alien spaceships. Most of the pictures are from Indonesia but there have been similar sighting in Moscow, Romania, Florida and elsewhere in 2009.”

The Moscow cloud sparked a huge amount of consternation. It hovered over the city for quite some time in October ’09, snarling traffic and causing pundits of all kinds to weigh in. The opinion of meteorologists to explain this never-before-seen kind of cloud is that it was formed by sunlight bouncing off it, or planes flying through it. Uh, OK.

Hole Punch Cloud – Not UFO – Spotted over Moscow

“A rare cloud formation was spotted over Moscow this week, inciting widespread discussion of UFO sightings throughout the city – concerns which spread across the globe instantly via the internet. The British tabloid The Sun reported as a “Mystery UFO Halo” over Moscow although it was likely simply an interesting phenomenon created by planes flying through layers of thin high-altitude clouds.” Note that the hole punch cloud has no hole, a consistently typical feature of this rare but known cloud. It’s a stretch, but I guess it’s better than admitting they simply don’t know what it is.

I note these clouds because they are rare or unknown phenomena. These phenomena are occurring at an increasingly rapid pace. They do not constitute the entirety of the last 8 months’ worth of strange clouds in the sky, but they are representative of a few of the noticed sightings.

Sightings are also occurring in space at an increasing pace. The secular world calls these sightings “Unidentified flying objects”, or UFO’s. The interesting thing about these UFO phenomena is not only that they are occurring more frequently, but at lower and lower altitudes and appearing to thousands at a time. No longer is it called in by a lone farmer in his field at dusk; no longer is it one local crackpot who also sees little green men at the Council meeting. No longer are they a rapid flash in the sky leaving humans to wonder if they even saw anything. These UFO sightings are appearing over whole cities, and hovering for hours.

Giant Pyramid UFO ‘Hovers Over Moscow’
“A mysterious ‘UFO’ seen in the sky over Moscow has sparked speculation that the city has been visited by an alien spacecraft. The pyramid-shaped object was said to have remained for hours over the Red Square in the Russian capital.”

Mystery as spiral blue light display hovers above Norway
“What’s blue and white, squiggly and suddenly appears in the sky? If you know the answer, pop it on a postcard and send it to the people of Norway, where this mysterious light display baffled residents yesterday.”

Was mysterious jellyfish in sky caused by space satellite reflecting Northern Lights?
“A strange jellyfish-shaped object spotted hanging in the sky over Norway, may have been caused by light from the aurora being bounced off a space satellite, experts say. If proven it will be the first known case of a satellite reflecting the Northern Lights.”

And sometimes, authorities simply throw up their hands and say, “Er, I dunno.”

Strange object filmed in the sky above Winnipeg 
“Prof. Jaymie Matthews, of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of British Columbia, said he wasn’t sure exactly what was caught on camera — but he ruled out several possibilities. “A comet that bright, that close to the Sun, visible in the twilight sky, would have been spotted by professional and amateur astronomers long before last night,” he wrote in an email from Paris. “And it would have been visible to people across North America last night, and still tonight.” He added that it was also definitely not a meteor, fireball or a disintegrating space debris.”

Were those mysterious bulletlike objects seen in the sky off the coast of Newfoundland missiles?
“In a case that sounds like a Hollywood science-fiction movie, locals in Harbour Mille, a small town near Newfoundland’s southern coast, are buzzing over the sighting of three silver or grey objects early Monday evening.”

“The Prime Minister Office says there is no evidence of anyone firing a rocket near Newfoundland’s southern coast. “There is no indication that there was ever a rocket launch,” Dimitri Soudas, a spokesman for Prime Minister Stephen Harper, said Thursday in an email. But a Liberal MP is accusing Ottawa of failing to provide answers on the mysterious sightings from earlier this week.”

What’s the purpose of the sky phenomena recap? Several points. First, the amount of strange sightings in the sky and space are staggering. It’s not that we have better telescopes or that there are more people to spot things, but that the things that are being spotted are unexplainable. They are occurring at the time when Jesus said to watch for signs of the end. He said “there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.” (Luke 21:11) Who can reasonably explain why a pyramid hovered above Moscow during rush hour? Who can explain the Norway Spiral? What was that jellyfish thing in space? If the Winnipeg item wasn’t a fireball, meteor, comet or space junk, what was it? We do know that in the end times Jesus said, “There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves,” (Luke 21:25). Strong’s Greek dictionary defines sign in this verse as a “miracle, an indication, especially ceremonially or supernaturally — miracle, sign, token, wonder.”

Secondly it is to point out that we are in the time of great deception. Jesus said of the signs of the end of the age, first: “See to it that no one misleads you.” (Mt 24:4) If Satan is the god of this age and he has been given permission to perform lying signs and wonders during the Tribulation…

2 Thes 2:9 “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, …”
Matthew 24:24 “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”

…then it stands to reason that prior to the Tribulation he would be performing deceptive signs as well during the period just prior to the Tribulation.

The third point of this essay is to encourage Christians to remain alert so that satan will not catch you unawares. Paul said “so that no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes.” Do not be ignorant of his schemes. The only sure guard against deception is truth. The only truth is God’s Holy Word. Do you read, study, and pray each day? Do you wear your armor? Are you ready to see through the deception of these sky and space phenomena? They will only grow bolder and more outlandish as the tribulation draws near until the entire world is deceived, and the whole world follows after the beast (with his fake resurrection and lying signs.)

When we are called to ‘look up for your redemption draws nigh” (Luke 21:28), are you able to look past the signs in the sun and the moon and the stars and see Jesus? I hope so? Keep looking but also keep praying.
