Hall of mirrors, or lifted veil; your choice

In reading these passages from 2 Corinthians 3:7-18 today I was struck by two images the verses evoked. The first is the veil. The second is the phrase ‘where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” I’ll explain, but first please read the verses:

“But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory. …”

“Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech— unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away. But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

There is much spiritual meat here. Praise His name! But the focus today is the veil and mirror. We are in the end times. We know that at the time of the very end there will be a one world dictator in control of the currency, economy, religion, and politics of the entire globe. This is the antichrist. The time prior to the antichrist is characterized by shrinking; shrinking economy, shrinking currency, shrinking spheres of influence for formerly powerful nations, shrinking amount of people who wield power; all aimed toward the moment when the shrinking will have been reduced to only one power-wielder.

Lately there has been intense interest in two of the shadowy organizations that people give credit to wielding incredible power and who use it to manipulate the currency and the economy: the Illuminati and the Freemasons. ‘Illuminati’ is a term defined in Wikipedia as “a purported conspiratorial organization which acts as a shadowy “power behind the throne,” allegedly controlling world affairs through present day governments and corporations, usually as a modern incarnation or continuation of the Bavarian Illuminati. In this context, Illuminati is often used in reference to a New World Order (NWO). Many conspiracy theorists believe the Illuminati are the masterminds behind events that will lead to the establishment of such a New World Order. Conspiracy theorists have long associated Freemasonry with the New World Order and the Illuminati, and state that Freemasonry as an organization is either bent on world domination or already secretly in control of world politics.”

Now to the ‘conspiracy theorists’ credit, it is a fact that someone had to lobby Woodrow Wilson in passing the Federal Reserve Act, establishing the hated private bank that Thomas Jefferson said would ruin us. And there is a gaggle of men who own that bank, the list of which is secret. It’s true that the members of the Fed wield extraordinary power and manipulate the US economy with impunity. Is there a power behind the Fed who controls the Fed? Some say yes, the Council for Foreign Relations. And is there a power behind that group, manipulating the CFR? Some say yes, The Bilderbergs. Is there a power behind the Bilderbergs, controlling them? Yes, the Illuminati. It goes on and on and on. It is a hall of mirrors. You can search and search and look and look but you will never know the real reflections nor ever see the real thing. They are all shadowy men. And that’s for a reason.

Because, there IS a power behind the throne. The bible speaks of the prince of Persia, (Daniel 10:13) evidently a fallen angel working under the direction of Satan who operates as the “god of this world” (2 Corinthians 4:4). The prince of Persia withstood the messenger angel for twenty-one days before the angel could get away and assist Daniel. In Ezekiel 28:12 – 19 we read of the King of Tyre, which really is the power behind the throne of Tyre (Lebanon) in this case, is actually satan.

There IS power behind the throne and those are the fallen angels who are given permission by God to influence these powerful men, leaders, and elected officials.

Chasing the Illuminati and Freemasons et al is in effect chasing satan. In chasing the Illuminati and the Freemasons and the other shadowy organizations, we get trapped in a hall of mirrors with reflections of the evil fallen angels dancing from mirror to mirror. Pursuing the Illuminati, even in thought, is pointless. We already know that satan influences some of earth’s leaders. Does it matter that we know who these Bilderbergs are and what they plan? We know who the power is behind the throne. We know that there will be a New World Order. We know that prayer is the most effective weapon. We know God wins. Isn’t that enough?

We have a choice on what to watch on television and where to put our energy and resources. We can pursue the shadows in a never-ending pursuit or we can remember we have had the veil lifted from our face and the glory is in Jesus. “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” How wonderful! How great!

‘Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.’ We can spend time and energy with veiled eyes pursuing the endless mirror of the Illuminati/Masons/Bilderbergs, or we can remember the veil is taken away in Christ!

Sudden volcanic eruption in Pakistan startles locals

Here is a roundup of seismic and volcanic activity that is not widely reported. Let’s start with the most unusual event of the day:

A mountain erupted in Pakistan today. A volcano erupting is not notable except…that this is a mountain that has never, ever erupted in its known history. It immediately created fear and panic among the locals.

“Quetta—Volcanic emissions have surfaced at Wham in Ziarat district including burning rocks, ashes and other lava for the first time in the known history causing great anxiety among the people according to reports. Wham area was devastated in the last year’s severe earthquake destroying houses and causing colossal loss to human life. The residents in the vicinity of the area noticed flames of burning rocks on the top of the mountain over the last couple of days spreading alarm and scare among the people. The authorities took little notice of this unusual behaviour in earth crust. Headquarter of the Geological Survey of Pakistan is located in Quetta. The Director General of the department though present in the office did not attend phone calls for his comments on volcanic emissions in the region.”

The earthquake mentioned in the article above that struck in Oct. 2008 was a 6.4 that destroyed many villages, and caused a high number of casualties. The mountain that suddenly began spewing lava last night is 37 miles from that earthquake epicenter and authorities are wondering if the area is becoming even more seismically active than it has been, though no mountain ever suddenly turned into a volcano here before…

Volcano erupts in Ziarat

“QUETTA – A volcano has started spewing lava in Ziarat District of Balochistan, some 75 kilometres away from Quetta. According to reports reaching here, the volcanic activity occurred in Jhari area of Ziarat at Torghar Mountain on Monday night. Residents of nearby area claimed the fire fumes at top of the mountain in the night witnessed for last few days while on Monday night the mountain started spewing lava. Jhari area is located near Waam, which was badly affected in October 29, 2008, when a severe earthquake hit Ziarat.”

In all the articles, though, it is mentioned about the collective fear of remembering the devastating earthquake in Wham (Wam, Waam) in late 20008 and the massive loss of life. That this volcano simply erupted without warning as it had never done before went a long way to bringing to mind the scripture that says men will be “fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” (Luke 21:26) and also this:  “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth  distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; (Luke 21:25). Distress, fear, terror, indeed. I know how I would feel if the mountain I’d known all my life as benign suddenly started shooting molten rocks into the air.

ECUADOR

Volcano Tungurahua in Ecuador
“Activity at Tungurahua volcano is increasing. It hasn’t really made it to much of the English-speaking news, but the current eruptive activity at Tungurahua appears to be on the up-tick.The Geophysical Institute of Ecuador suggests that a larger eruption is not out of the question, but right now the activity is confined to explosions and ash fall around the region. The Geophysical Institute is reporting 32 explosions, 30 long-period seismic events and 20 episodes of volcanic tremor in the last 24 hours. Government officials have issued a number of warnings for people living near the volcano and began preparation for evacuations.”

Last Friday, the local authories held a meeting for residents of Fabiola’s village, Puñapi, and surrounding villages. “You really need to leave,” they told them. “The volcano could have a massive eruption any day and this entire area would be destroyed. If you stay, you stay at your own risk.”
 
Tungurahua Is one of the many active volcanoes running down Ecuador’s spine in a row called “Valley of the Volcanoes.” The Ecuadorans are quite used to volcanic activity, they live with the constant rumblings. Villagers walk around with buckets on their heads to catch the volcanic rocks raining down upon them. However, they were taken aback when local authorities made an evacuation order this week. Tungurahua has been slowly erupting since 1999, but since December 21, 2009, it has increased dramatically. “Last Friday, the local authories held a meeting for residents of Fabiola’s village, Puñapi, and surrounding villages. “You really need to leave,” they told them.”

YELLOWSTONE

Earthquakes continue to rumble underneath Yellowstone
“It is one of the most intense quake swarms ever recorded in the park’s history and it still shows no sign of slowing down.  In fact, the activity increased during a six-hour period last night. During that time, two quakes, both nearly magnitude 3’s happened within a few minutes of each other.”

“As of February 4, 2010 9:00 AM MST there have been 1,771 located earthquakes in the recent Yellowstone National Park swarm. The swarm began January 17, 2010 around 1:00 PM MST about 10 miles northwest of the Old Faithful area on the northwestern edge of the Yellowstone Caldera. Swarms have occurred in this area several times over the past two decades. This swarm has been longer (in time) and with more earthquakes than last year’s swarm beneath Yellowstone Lake (December ’08/January ’09).” 
Seismologist Dr Klemetti explains here why the earthquakes at Yellowstone getting shallower is no big deal…(?) Ok, if you say so. Technical article. The interesting thing about the Yellowstone situation, of course, is that not only is the ground at Yellowstone seismically active, Yellowstone caldera is really a super-volcano. “A supervolcano or super volcanic eruption is a volcanic eruption with ejecta greater than 240 cubic miles, which is millions of times larger than any volcanic event in historic times.”

How much groaning the land emits! All of creation waits for the day when all things are made new, even the stones!! “I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out”. (Luke 19:40) and Jesus meant it. “For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.” “How long is the land to mourn And the vegetation of the countryside to wither? For the wickedness of those who dwell in it, Animals and birds have been snatched away, Because men have said, “He will not see our latter ending.” (Jer 12:4)

These groans and sorrows are a prophecy of a time of deliverance when there shall be new heavens, and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness (2Pe 3:13). The intense birth pangs continue.

Witches get worship area at AF Academy

I noted here and here that there was a flap when it emerged that a Christian company that had contracted with the US Military to create gun sights for guns going to Iran, had bible verse addresses on them. They always had them there, but when the verses were “discovered” two weeks ago, an outcry was made. The company agreed to refrain from inscribing verse addresses on the gun sights in the future. A great hail and hoorah was made, once again the state was made separate from church.

Today it is reported that “The Air Force Academy has set aside an outdoor worship area for Pagans, Wiccans, Druids and other Earth-centered believers, school officials said Monday. A double circle of stones atop a hill on the campus near Colorado Springs has been designated for the group, which previously met indoors.” Additionally, it is reported that:

The Air Force Academy, stung several years ago by accusations of Christian bias, has built a new outdoor worship area for pagans and other practitioners of Earth-based religions. But its opening, heralded as a sign of a more tolerant religious climate at the academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., was marred by the discovery two weeks ago of a large wooden cross placed there. … In a statement, Gould said, “We absolutely will not stand for this type of destructive behavior. I consider this no different than someone writing graffiti on the Cadet Chapel.” [emphasis mine]

I believe it is obvious that we are in the end time. I also believe that it is obvious that apostasy is on the rise. People are falling away from the faith in great numbers. Not just fence-sitters who are falling down on the faithless side of the fence, but Church itself is falling away too. Dominion Theology, Preterism, and other false doctrines are creeping into the foundational Christian belief systems, just as we were warned. (2 Tim 4:3  “For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.”)

Faithlessness is brought up in several other prophetical verses:

We know that the antichrist will not be revealed until the great falling away occurs. “The day of the Lord has come. Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction” (2 Thess 2:3)

“I tell you, He will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8)

The issue is faith. The fact is there will be no faith, or lots of the wrong faith when Jesus returns. It’s ironic that a Government institution is making effort to build a pagan area for Wiccan worship, when Christians need to get permission from the ACLU to stand on the corner with a cross. For all those who scream that government and religion must be separate, who now support and encourage a Wiccan pagan worship area built by the government, the irony again is high. The brouhaha isn’t even settled with the Cross in the Mojave. In that flap, “High Court to Consider Issue of Church-State Separation” a cross’s placement in the Mojave desert on US Federal land was challenged. “Frank Buono, an assistant  superintendent [of the US Park Service], informed his boss that the presence of the cross violated the Constitution’s establishment clause. Buono is Catholic, but he said he was offended by the religious display on federal land. “The cross is important to me because it is the indispensable symbol of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ,” Buono said in an interview. “But it isn’t right that the symbol of my religion, or any religion, be permanently affixed to federal land.”

But it’s OK for witches to prance around their religious altar on government land, I see.

Fortunately when Jesus returns and restores the earth, HIS earth, not ‘Mother Earth’, He will rule with an iron rod. He will not have to ask permission from anybody to go where He wants and to rule as He sees fit. For He is the LIVING Cross, the Word, and the Saviour of the world. He will be visible to all, and finally, finally, no other idolatrous item, no blasphemous altar, will mar the glorious light that is our Jesus. O, come soon!

Canada’s Bontan announces two more huge Israeli gas fields

I have noted recently of the increasingly tight military ties and exchanges between the alliance prophesied to come against Israel in the last days: Russia, Libya, Iran, Turkey, Armenia, Sudan/Ethiopia and some others. Today I’ll focus on the reason that they do this (aside from God drawing them into the conflict) – it is for a spoil. In the last year Israel has discovered massive oil and gas reserves, and the riches keep on coming:

February 11, 2009:

Huge Israeli Gas Find Even More Massive Than Expected
A massive natural gas find off the coast of Haifa which was lauded as capable of fueling all of Israel for 15 years is actually more than 60 percent larger than originally estimated, according to the American partner in the drill, Noble Energy Inc.

December 24, 2009:

Israeli company finds oil beneath Rosh Ha’ayin
An Israeli oil exploration company on Thursday announced that it had found a huge amount of oil and gas during drilling below the city of Rosh Ha’ayin this week.

February 2, 2010:

Up to $6 trln feet of natural gas found
The Canadian Bontan Oil and Gas Company, which has been exploring for natural gas off the coast of Israel, announced Tuesday that it had found prospective resources of up to 6 trillion cubic feet [TCF]of natural gas in Mira and Sarah Prospects off the country’s coast.

Russia invades Israel to plunder “A Great Spoil” – Ezekiel 38:13  “Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish with all its villages will say to you, ‘Have you come to capture spoil?  Have you assembled your company to seize plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to capture great spoil?'”

As the Gog-Magog pieces come ever closer together, Israel becomes richer….and more of the prophesied target!

Porn peeping banker busted

“This is the moment a banker is caught looking at topless pictures on his computer as an analyst behind him speaks live to camera. The man was at his desk at Sydney’s Macquarie Bank during a report on interest rates for Channel 7’s Sunrise show. The banker then turns around and realises he has been caught in the act. He sheepishly returns to the charts he should have been studying.  One of the photographs has been identified as Orlando Bloom’s girlfriend, the model Miranda Kerr.”

A colleague comes over to speak to him, and the banker continues to peep at porn while his colleague speaks. Soon enough the colleague notices the porn is visible on the monitor, and leans down to tell his banker friend. The banker turns around with a sheepish look to see for himself and then he turns back, putting up a banker chart and erasing the porn.

Our society is so fallen that men looking at naked women is not considered pornographic. When, just fifty years ago, bikinis were a scandal, and 100 years ago, the exposed female ankle was porn. But look at the reply:

The reply is ‘please be polite with your porn.’ There’s a proper time and place to view someone’s daughter naked. It’s OK to fill your mind with garbage and defile your marriage at home, just don’t do it at work.

Our society is completely saturated with sexual images. Everywhere we look, from billboards to television to grocery store check out counters, we are bombarded with blatantly sexual pictures. Even selling a cheeseburger these days is accompanied by writhing and licking. Common lingo is now slutburger and MILF. The Internet and cable television have allowed for devastating 24/7 access to pornographic images. And anyone can see that the images have become more brazen, humiliating, and debasing since even the 1970s. As Steve Kroft reported, “One of the biggest cultural changes in the United States over the past 25 years has been the widespread acceptance of sexually explicit material – pornography. In the space of a generation, a product that once was available in the back alleys of big cities has gone corporate, delivered now directly into homes and hotel rooms by some of the biggest companies in the United States.” And by 2003 the porn industry had outpaced the oil industry in profits. Someone is buying all that porn.

Satan wants to debase everything good that God has created. One of God’s foundational creations is marriage. He created sex as an enjoyable activity inside a marriage and as a God-created thing is it good. When it results in a child then the joy multiplies. Marriage was meant to be between a man and a woman, and sex was to be contained within that union only after the union was sanctified in His name and lasting till death do they part. Today, marriage has been debased to the point that it is between any gender and in any number. Sex is something to be enjoyed at any time with anyone, whether married or not.

And now the worst debasement of all, pornography, has pushed the momentum along. Society is crumbling and pornography is the bulldozer crashing into every home. Lust has always been the greatest tool satan has at his disposal. He started right off in the garden. “When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, …” (Gen 3:6). A delight to the eyes…sensuous and tempting.

Christian brother, if you peek at porn at work or in the wee hours at home as a “delight to the eyes”, be aware that you are in agreement with satan and in disagreement with God.

Jesus said: “But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart” (Mt 5:28). The Tenth Commandment shows us:

“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor” (Exodus 20:17). The word translated “covet” is Hebrew chamad, “desire, delight in.”

You might say, ‘I’m not coveting my neighbor’s wife, I’m just looking at anonymous women.’ Well, who is your neighbor? the legal expert asked Jesus in Luke 10. In reply, Jesus told the parable of the Good Samaritan. “It is the one who has mercy on him.” (Luke 10:37) In effect, Jesus was saying, your neighbor is…everyone. To love God means to show mercy to those in need. A girl posing naked for cameras is surely as in need as the biblical man laying bleeding on the road to Jericho. And yet husbands, brothers, fathers, grandfathers take advantage of her and salivate all over their computer screens at work.

Be Godly. Be merciful. Be a Christian. Porn is of satan, and as Christians, we do not agree with satan. We have the victory, because of Jesus blood. Do not sully Jesus’ sacrifice by diluting his blood with pornographic garbage on your computer screens. Paul says in 2Tim 3:2-5 that “There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God…” It is my fervent hope that you love God more than you love godless pleasure. If you are struggling with porn temptations, I pray that you will throw yourself at the cross and ask Jesus to help you overcome this addiction! He WILL! He CAN! He DOES! He is JESUS!

The mud doesn’t get glovey

Haggai 2:10-14 – “Thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘Ask now the priests for a ruling: ‘If a man carries holy meat in the fold of his garment, and touches bread with this fold, or cooked food, wine, oil, or any other food, will it become holy?'” And the priests answered, “No.” Then Haggai said, “If one who is unclean from a corpse touches any of these, will the latter become unclean?” And the priests answered, “It will become unclean.” Then Haggai said, ” ‘So is this people. And so is this nation before Me,’ declares the LORD, ‘and so is every work of their hands; and what they offer there is unclean.”

What does this mean? Matthew Henry explains it well. “Many spoiled this good work, by going about it with unholy hearts and hands, and were likely to gain no advantage by it. The sum of these two rules of the law is, that sin is more easily learned from others than holiness. The impurity of their hearts and lives shall make the work of their hands, and all their offerings, unclean before God. The case is the same with us. When employed in any good work, we should watch over ourselves, lest we render it unclean by our corruptions.” In other words, if you drop a white glove in the mud, the mud doesn’t get glovey.

In this, the end time, we are warned repeatedly to avoid being deceived. Deception is the watchword of the day, along with its brothers, false teaching/prophets, and apostasy. The only sure antidote for being deceived is to stay strong in the basic foundations of our faith: daily prayer, daily bible study, daily worship- seeking His face by remaining receptive to the Holy Spirit.

The Haggai chapters also contain a phrase the LORD uses several times: “Thus says the LORD of hosts, “Consider your ways” (1:7). The word consider is used repeatedly in chapter 2. In the NIV it is “give careful thought.” Considering our ways is always a good thing to do. Falling away always starts subtly, and why not? “For the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made.” (Gen 3:1) He’s not going to grab you and drag you screaming behind the bushes. He’ll start subtly.

Do you have some creeping corruptions that are rendering you unclean? A little mud splatter? A peek at today’s horoscope, perhaps. Hanging with friends who swear, drink, or sleep around. Have you been unable to resist passing along that great piece of gossip? That’s how it starts. And before you know it, your work is unclean. And the more we fail to “give careful thought”, the more we become unclean. The more we fail to ask Jesus to reveal our unholiness to us the more the crafty serpent subtly creeps in. Don’t kid yourself that you are persisting with these friends because it’s a chance to witness. The consecrated meat does not consecrate the cooked food, wine, oil, or any other food. Rather, the uncleanness prevails, every time. If you drop a white glove into the mud…the glove does not make the mud white.

Christian, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.” (II Timothy 3:1) Give careful thought to your ways, and stay clean in these perilous times!
